At 1330 hours we were dispatched to 1260 North Stewart Road for a reported house fire. The first Engine arrived to find heavy smoke coming out of the garage door and out of the roof vents. Multiple hose lines were deployed and the crews located the fire in the basement The crews extinguished the fire and then checked for extension.

Automatic Aid was provided by Mifflin Township and Mansfield City. Mutual Aid was requested and provided by the 179th Air National Guard Fire Department and the Franklin Township Fire Department.

There were 2 occupants home at the time of the fire. Both were out of the house when we arrived. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants.

The cause is under investigation.

Some of our students paid a visit to our very special neighbor this week. We are filled with gratitude for the job they do every day in our community and that they were able to take time out of that busy schedule to participate in our Children's Fair last weekend! Children were able to meet the firefighters, tour the station & engines, and see all types of demonstrations. We cannot say thank you enough!😊

Franklin Twp Fire responded to a structure fire shortly after 3AM in the 2700 block of Amoy Ganges Rd. First arriving units found active fire at the house and mutual aid was requested. Thank you to Shelby Firefighters Local 2492 and Madison Township Fire Department for their assistance this morning.

This afternoon at 1317 hours we were dispatched to a report of a house on fire on Burger Avenue. The first arriving company, Engine 72, from Station 2 found smoke showing. A crosslay hose line was deployed and the crew made an aggressive interior fire attack. Additional arriving firefighters assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. We were assisted by the Mansfield and Springfield Township Fire Departments. There was no one at home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to be accidental.
