🍀 SEPTEMBER OFFICE HOURS & CHANGES 🍀

Please note the following changes to our September office hours:

📅 September 2: Closed 10:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. for programming
📅 September 3: Open until 5:30 p.m.
📅 September 7: Closed for Labor Day
📅 September 10: Open until 6:00 p.m.

📬 Thank-you notes can be dropped in the door slot anytime the Longview Center is open, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Our normal office hours are Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Appointments are available after hours and on Fridays.

🍀 Richland County 4-H Updates –September2026 🍀

I hope everyone is rested and recovered from the fair! I had a great time meeting so many of you throughout the week. It was wonderful getting to know our 4-H families, volunteers, and supporters! 💚

Now that things have slowed down a little, I’m using this “downtime” to work on improving and streamlining some of our processes. My goal is to make things easier and more efficient for our 4-H families and volunteers.

📣 FINAL DAY TO PICK UP PREMIUM CHECKS!💰🍀

Tomorrow, September 1st, is the FINAL DAY to pick up premium checks for Breeding or Displayed Still Exhibits!

📍 Pick-Up Location:Sr. Fair Office (Fairhaven Office)

⚠️ Please note: These are NOT your checks from the auction.

📝 Primary Buyer Thank-You Notes are due to the Extension Office by September 15. Checks for primary buyers will be mailed to youth at a later date.

💌 Don’t forget your Award Thank-You Notes, too!

September 1 will be the final day to pick up your still project premiums. Money can be claimed by parent/guardian or exhibitor at the Senior Fair Office during its regular business hours, 8:00 am-4:00 pm.

🐛🔍 NEW SERIES: Project Spotlight! 🔍🐛

We’re excited to introduce a new series where a random wheel picks a 4-H project to spotlight each week! 🎡🍀 Our goal is to spread the word about all the amazing projects available through 4-H and help youth discover something new!

🎯 This Week’s Project: #645 Insect Adventures 2

Dig a little deeper into the world of insects! 🦋🪲 Learn about insects by:
🐛 Learning to love a caterpillar
🔎 Recognizing relatives of insects
🪤 Building a new insect trap
🐞 Identifying friendly insect predators
✨ And so much more!

At this level, your collection includes 40 insect specimens! 🐜🦋🪲

🏆 State Fair Eligible!
📅 This project goes down on Natural Resources Day at the Ohio State Fair.

📋 Project Requirements: Youth must complete:
• All 8 activities, including the 40-specimen insect collection
• 2 learning experiences
• 2 leadership/citizenship activities
• The Project Review

If you enjoy nature, exploring the outdoors, and learning about the fascinating world of insects, #645 Insect Adventures 2 might be the project for you! 🍀🐛

🍀🎓 Shoutout to All of Our Cloverbud Graduates! 🎓🍀

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to all of our Cloverbud Graduates! 💚

These members are completing their final year as Cloverbuds and are ready to take the next step in their 4-H journey! Members who will be 8 AND in 3rd grade or 9 years old by January 1, 2027, will officially become full 4-H members. 🎉

During Cloverbud Graduation, each member received a certificate and a FREE project book voucher to help kick off their next chapter in 4-H! 📚🍀

We are so excited to watch these young members grow into 4-H members, discover new interests, take on exciting projects, and develop their leadership skills.
