🤎 RESCUE OR ADOPTION NEEDED FOR FRANCES 🤎

Meet Frances, a 6-year-old spayed Pit Bull mix with so much love left to give. 🐾

Frances is an incredibly sweet girl who absolutely loves people. She has some medical concerns involving her hips, and we’re doing everything we can to keep her comfortable with medication and soft bedding. But shelter life is difficult, and she deserves a quiet, loving place where she can truly relax and enjoy her days.

💕 Frances needs to leave the shelter by October 24th. We’re hoping to find her either a loving adopter or a rescue willing to give her the comfort and care she deserves.

Frances does well with some dogs when given slow, proper introductions, but she would likely thrive best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love for herself.

This sweet girl deserves a soft place to land, a cozy bed, and someone who will show her just how loved she is. Please consider opening your home to Frances or sharing her story to help us find the right person for her. 🤎

Somehow it’s 99% animals. 😂
Adoptable animals, animals we’ve helped, silly moments, sweet faces, and way too many pictures we just couldn’t delete. ❤️

Working at a shelter means your camera roll gets a little animal-heavy… and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. 🐶🐱

And speaking of animals — we have lots of adoptable dogs and cats at the shelter right now! 🏡🐾 If you’ve been thinking about adopting, come meet them and see if your new best friend is waiting for you. ❤️

🎃🐾 We’re back at the Pumpkin Fair today! 🐾🎃

We’ll be out at the Pumpkin Fair today from 10 AM–5 PM! Stop by our booth, come say hi, and visit with the Manteca Animal Services team! 🧡

☀️ With today’s heat, we want to remind everyone to keep pet safety in mind. We will NOT have dogs out at the fair today because of the temperatures, and we strongly recommend leaving your dogs at home if possible.

If you do bring your dog, please take extra precautions—bring plenty of water, provide breaks and shade, and consider protective boots for their paws. 🐾

🔥 Remember: pavement can be MUCH hotter than the air!

85°F air → 125°F asphalt
90°F air → 135°F asphalt
95°F air → 145°F asphalt
100°F air → 155°F asphalt

Hot asphalt can cause painful burns to paw pads, sometimes very quickly. If the pavement is too hot for the back of your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws. 🐾🔥
