💙Celebrating Filipino American History Month⭐

This month, Manteca Unified recognizes the rich history, culture, and lasting contributions of Filipino Americans. From education and public service to business, healthcare, and the arts, Filipino Americans continue to make lasting impacts on our communities.

💡Did you know? The City of Lathrop’s sister city is Bacarra, Illocos Norte, Philippines, a partnership established in 2003 that reflects the strong cultural ties shared by many families in our region. MUSD’s demographics show that 5.4% of students are Filipino!

Future leaders in action! 🏛️

Students from Sierra, East Union, Manteca, and Calla High Schools spent the day at the City of Manteca’s Youth in Government Day, gaining a firsthand look at the functions of local government.

From meeting City leaders, learning about departments, touring city facilities, and participating in a mock City Council meeting, students explored how local decisions shape our community.

Thank you, City of Manteca - Local Government for creating this valuable opportunity to inspire civic engagement and leadership for MUSD students. ⭐

Behind every successful school is a team of dedicated leaders working to support students, staff, and families.

During the Week of the School Administrator, Manteca Unified celebrates the individuals whose educational leadership helps students learn every day. From guiding instruction to supporting staff and advocating for student success, their impact is felt in countless ways across our district.

While the photos highlight a variety of site and district administrators, our appreciation extends to all administrators throughout MUSD. Whether serving directly on a school campus or supporting districtwide operations, their commitment, leadership, and service ensure equitable access to public education and opportunities for all students to learn and grow. 💙🏫

When you see your school principal this week, be sure to wish them a Happy School Administrator Day!

🥗It’s National School Lunch Week!🥪

Observed October 12-16, National School Lunch Week celebrates the dedicated teams who provide students with balanced, nutritious meals each day.

🍕Did you know that our Nutrition Education team prepares scratch-cooked meals daily in MUSD kitchens and distributes them throughout the district? Their hard work helps students stay nourished, focused, and ready to learn.

Thank you, team! ✨

Today, we commemorate Indigenous Peoples’ Day by honoring the rich histories, vibrant cultures, enduring traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. 💛🌿

For generations, Indigenous communities have cared for and maintained deep connections to these lands. This day invites us to listen, learn, and deepen our understanding.

Did you know? Manteca Unified offers a Title VI Indian Education Program, which celebrates cultural identity and builds awareness across our school communities.

🚌💛 October is School Bus Safety Month!

The wheels on the bus can’t go ‘round without our fantastic bus operators! Beyond their duty of driving safely to and from campus, MUSD bus drivers often go above and beyond to create a nurturing and supportive environment for students.

To help our school bus operators keep every ride safe, review these important reminders:

🚍 Keep a safe distance (12 feet away) from the school bus until boarding
🚍 Know your route information
🚍 Be respectful and follow directions

Today is National Custodian Day! 🔑⭐

Their dedication is reflected throughout our campuses through clean classrooms, cared-for learning environments, beautiful school grounds, stocked supplies, and the everyday maintenance that keeps our schools ready for the day. 🧹🛠️

Their work helps create learning environments where students and staff can focus on what matters most: learning. ✏️📚

Scroll through to meet some of the custodial teams across MUSD, and help us recognize the care, hard work, and dedication they bring to our campuses each day! 👏💙

Don’t see your school’s custodial team? Share a photo of your custodian(s) in the comments so we can celebrate them too! 📸⭐

🍎Crunching into Farm-to-School Month🍏

District Office staff joined together this morning for MUSD’s 3rd Annual Apple Crunch Day, taking part in the districtwide crunch at 8:15 a.m.

By taking a bite of locally grown California apples, participants helped celebrate local agriculture and the farmers who help nourish our communities.

Thank you to everyone, especially our Nutrition Education department, and those who helped make this year’s crunch one to remember.
