Please ensure that your canine partners are safeguarded from heat exhaustion during your work hours. Regardless of maintenance, vehicles are susceptible to malfunction. For officers requiring a dog crate during lunch breaks or report writing, kindly reach out to me to obtain one of our extra-large transport crates used for air travel. These crates can be utilized within your respective departments.

Congratulations to the Manteca Police Explorers Post 805! They competed in the 2024 Central Valley Police Explorers Competition this past Friday and Saturday. Which they also host, along with Ripon PD, Tracy PD and Modesto PD.

During the competition they participated in 14 different scenarios. Their hard work and training this past year showed in all of their scenarios.

The four hosting agencies compete against each other separate from the visiting teams. Manteca took 1st place in 7 scenarios and 1st place overall! Great job!!

Today K9 Echo did a demo for the kids at Refuge church. After the demo she let the kids play with her.

Today we said goodbye to retired K9 Kato. K9 Kato worked with Officer Smigelski and served the citizens of Manteca for 8 1/2 years. During that time they had numerous apprehensions and created a bond like no other. K9 Kato was able to retire, spending his remaining years by their side. He will greatly be missed. Thank you for your service K9 Kato. Rest easy good boy.
