Jack Adams is 79, the sole surviving founder of the Outer Banks Community Foundation, and still keeps a working life in Savannah, Tennessee.

Looking back across his career — the Outer Banks, Arkansas, Tennessee — Adams doesn’t hesitate when asked what mattered most. “I’m proudest of the OBCF,” he said. “They did the most good for the community — they met the needs that were not being met. And they were great people to work with, too.”

By the end of summer, Myrezza Holton will have been interning with the Community Foundation for six months. Her journey with the Community Foundation began in January of 2026 through Manteo High School’s internship program.

“This has been one of the most valuable learning experiences of my life,” said Holton. “Everyone at OBCF has been patient, supportive, and willing to answer my questions. Their encouragement created an environment where I felt comfortable learning, growing, and challenging myself every day.”

We are so grateful for her time with us, and wish her the absolute best in her first year of college!

To read more about Myrezza's internship experience, check out our recent blog post: https://obcf.org/myrezza-holton-intern/
