Please keep the Uthe family and our friends at the Minnesota State Patrol in your thoughts and prayers.

Your Sheriff,

Scott

The LELS Board of Directors and Staff extend our deepest condolences as we mourn the tragic loss of Lieutenant Tyler Uthe of the Minnesota State Patrol.

Today, we join the public safety community across Minnesota and beyond in grieving the loss of a dedicated public servant, leader, colleague, and friend. Lieutenant Uthe devoted his life to serving and protecting others, and his passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

Our hearts are with Tyler's family, loved ones, fellow troopers, and the entire Minnesota State Patrol family during this incredibly difficult time. We also extend our support and prayers to the broader law enforcement community as we collectively mourn this tragic loss.

The challenges faced by those who serve are often unseen, and moments like this remind us of the importance of standing together, supporting one another, and ensuring that no one carries their burdens alone.

Please keep Lieutenant Uthe's family and all those affected by his passing in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.

Rest easy, Lieutenant Uthe. Your service, sacrifice, and commitment to others will never be forgotten.

Rosie and I had a great time in Mantorville last night. Even got to play a few tunes with the band! Great food and a great crowd too! Tuesday nights all summer long in Mantorville! Hope to see you all there sometime this year!

Your Sheriff,

Scott

Last night was great — about 600 people came out to Riverside Park for the first Music in Mantorville concert of the season.

The Rockin' Hep Cats kept the crowd entertained! Some of the night's highlights included Dodge County Sheriff MN, Scott Rose, joining the band on bass guitar for a few songs. And a group of kids gathered near the stage (zoom into the photo) making song requests (Who Let the Dogs Out was demanded). 😆

Thank you to MBT Bank for sponsoring the music! Hope to see you next Tuesday for Loud Mouth Brass! 🎷

Out delivering Appreciation Plaques this afternoon to the many amazing sponsors that supported the Chaplain Fundraising Event earlier this year. This young lady Angie and her hubby Sean own Midwest Floor Solutions and The Studio Events in Kasson! The event was such a success in great part to all of the time and energy these two put into the planning and hosting of the event at The Studio on Main Street. If you’ve never been there the building is classy, beautiful and a great venue for events - and this lady knows how to plan and throw a party!

Thank you Angie and Sean for all you do for this community!!!! 🖤💙🖤🙏🏻

Your Sheriff,

Scott

We've tragically lost a couple of motorcycle riders in the last two weeks and the season has really just begun. Please share this with family and friends. While we always encourage riders to operate safely, many motorcycle crashes involve other vehicles that simply didn't see the motorcycle until it was too late.

As motorists, there are a few simple things we can all do to help keep our roads safer:

🏍️ Watch for motorcycles. Because motorcycles are smaller, it can be difficult to accurately judge their speed and distance.

👀 Look twice. Always double-check before entering a roadway, turning left, changing lanes, or pulling into traffic.

🚗 Check your blind spots. Motorcycles can easily disappear in areas not visible in your mirrors.

⏱️ Give riders room. Maintain at least a three-second following distance whenever possible.

⚠️ Slow down and stay focused. Pay attention, eliminate distractions, and drive at safe speeds—especially on curves, rural roads, and roads you are unfamiliar with.

Every rider is someone's spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend, or
coworker.

Let's all do our part to watch out for one another and help everyone get home safely.

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our nation. Today is also about the families left behind — the spouses, children, parents, siblings, and loved ones who continue carrying that sacrifice every single day.

Your loss is not forgotten.
Your sacrifice is not forgotten.
And the heroes you love will NEVER be forgotten. 🇺🇸

From all of us at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, we remember, we honor, and we stand in gratitude this Memorial Day weekend.
