We are SO excited to announce that we had to make a NEW FLYER because even MORE local first responder departments are joining us for our First Responders & Kids Event! ❤️💙

And that’s not all… 🚁 A MEDICAL HELICOPTER WILL BE AT THE EVENT! 🚁

Come check it out up close and meet the amazing people who help keep our community safe!

We are also adding a FUN CHECKLIST/STAMP CHALLENGE just for the kids! 🎟️🌽

Kids can visit each participating department and complete their checklist. For every stamp they collect, they’ll receive a ticket to enter into our prize drawings! 🎟️🎁

And there’s even a WANTED POSTER challenge throughout the farm where kids can find the “wanted” people and earn EXTRA tickets! 🤠⭐

The Mantua Police Department, Hiram Police Department, Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department, Hiram Fire Department and Windham Police Department are teaming up for a night of family fun, community connection, and getting to know the people who serve our communities! ❤️

The Hiram Police Department’s fishing event was an incredible success! We are so thankful to everyone who was able to come out, enjoy the beautiful day, and help make this event so special for our community. 💙

Come out for a fun day with Officers!💙👮

Come join the Hiram Police Department and its Officers for a fun fill day at Camp Asbury, full of fishing, food and community togetherness.

No fishing license needed, just bring your favorite fishing rod, a friend or two and the willingness to have fun!

There are a limit amount of Fishing Rods available, and a limit amount of event T-shirts will also be provided as a gift (first come first serve).

Lunch and refreshments will also be provided by Haylett's Save 4 Store at no cost to those who attend.

This year we will also have a free raffle for the kids to enter, with a First, Second and Third Place prizes.

Safety Town is a program for children entering Kindergarten where an experienced adult provides instruction, alongside your community safety forces, on topics including bus safety, street crossing, fire safety, and more.

Members of the Mantua Police Department including Patrolman Coonce, Wiltrout, Villanueva, Miller and Sergeant Gilbert all spent time this week at the Crestwood Primary School alongside incoming kindergartners going over subjects such as stranger danger, seat belt safety and calling 911. A collective team approach was taken to make sure the children walked away with a learning experience and a smile on their face.

Special thanks to Crestwood Local Schools and first-grade teacher Mrs. Jolene Reese for allowing us to participate in this wonderful experience.

Thanks to Chief Terry of the Mantua Police Department for allowing us the latitude to build these important community relationships.💙👮

🎣 Join Our Friends at the Hiram Police Department for a Day of Fishing & Fun!

The Hiram Police Department is hosting a fun day at Camp Asbury filled with fishing, great food, and time together with the community.

No fishing license is needed—just bring your favorite fishing pole, a friend or two, and come ready to have a great time!

A limited number of fishing rods and event T-shirts will be available while supplies last.

AIR QUALITY ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR THURSDAY JULY 16...

An Air Quality Advisory for ground level fine particles has been
issued by the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit Counties. Air quality issues are due to wildfires smoke from Canada.

The advisory is from midnight tonight to midnight Thursday night.

A code MAROON air quality alert means that air pollution
concentrations within the local region are extremely hazardous for
the general population. Efforts to minimize effects, even indoors,
may be difficult to impossible. Follow local emergency instructions
via television or radio.

To help our region reduce air pollution:

* Drive less: bike, walk, use transit, work from home, combine trips
* Visit gohiocommute.com/noaca - Find a smarter way to travel!
* Don`t idle - Turn off your engine
* Refill your tank after sunset
* Wait to mow the lawn

🚧🚧TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE 🚧🚧

Please be aware W.High St is closed between Main St and Oak St. Due to the storm last night there are trees and wires down along with a pole that has snapped and could come down if a vehicle gets tangled up in the wires. This is also completely blocking the intersection of Elm and High. Please go around. Reservoir and Bramley residents you are able to come in and out going westbound on High.

We will be able to open the road back up once Ohio Edison comes out. Please do not move the barricades. They are there for your safety.
