Gabe Garza - Alvin ISD School Board Trustee - Position 7 Official Page of Gabriel "Gabe" Garza | Alvin ISD Board Trustee Position 7 I am a Rio Grande Valley (RGV) native from Mission, Texas.

My wife, Danica and I reside in Manvel with our two children. We are proud graduates of Texas Tech University, where I earned a BS in Hotel & Restaurant Management. I am in my 13th year with Marriott, working remotely, as a Senior Sales Executive for Gaylord Opryland. I have served, or currently serving, on various boards and committees within the Houston Hotel Industry, the City of Manvel, Alvin ISD, and my church home, Redeemer Manvel. In Alvin ISD, I am a YET Mentor and have served on the School Boundary Advisory Committee, School District Strategic Planning Committee, and the Alvin ISD Education Foundation. I also served as the Alvin ISD Representative on the Shadow Creek Ranch Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 2 Board. I have lived a life surrounded by public educators. I am the grandson, son, son-in-law, nephew, and husband of current and retired teachers and administrators. My wife Danica, born and raised in Manvel, is a graduate of Alvin High School and has 16 years of service to Alvin ISD. Our daughter is also a current student. I am a proud man of God, I have a passion for people, building relationships, and service to others. As a strong supporter of public education, I look to leverage the experience I have gained through my active civic involvement, along with my business acumen, to serve the Alvin ISD community I love.

To the Alvin ISD community,

I am truly humbled and honored to serve as a School Board Trustee. As a family man, it is my nature to always want the best for my family. As a father, I want the best education and opportunities for my children, and as the husband of an educator, I want the best working environment for my wife. As an Alvin ISD Trustee, it is my duty to pursue those same outcomes for every student attending an Alvin ISD school, and for every teacher and staff member serving our students and community. I am deeply committed to these efforts, and I hope that through my decisions and actions, I will gain your trust and continued support.

What a whirlwind of a last two days!

Yesterday, Alvin ISD had the opportunity to host the Leadership TASB Class of 2027, which includes our own Trustee, Danielle Swiney! Our Board President, "AJ" Johnson, is also a 2026 graduate of the program. We had the opportunity to showcase the many programs, opportunities, and experiences we offer across the district! It was a proud moment to show off our students, staff, and schools!

Today, we kicked off DAY 1 of the Texas Association of School Boards 2026 txEDCON Conference in Houston alongside my fellow Alvin ISD Board Trustees and District Cabinet members. A day of learning, collaboration, and networking to help us continue serving our students, staff, and community.

Wrapped up the day with some Iowa Colony football with the family!

TASBE Day ✌🏼 continues tomorrow.

It was a great evening yesterday attending Iowa Colony High School’s Hispanic Heritage Month Festival! Good music, folclórico dancing, good food, and my favorite part, visiting the student booths where our Pioneers shared a little about their families’ countries of origin, traditions, and even some of their favorite foods!

Congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Darnika Brooks and all the teachers, staff, students, and community partners who helped organize this event! Also great seeing Iowa Colony Mayor Wil Kennedy recognize the festival with a proclamation. Looking forward to next year and seeing this event continue to grow!

A BIG thank you to EVERYONE INVOLVED who made these productions possible! By my count, our students put on 37 performances between all three musicals over the last two weeks! 😮👏🏼

Have a future performer at home? Connect with your child’s campus music teacher to learn how they can be part of next year’s Elementary Musicals!
