I have served, or currently serving, on various boards and committees within the Houston Hotel Industry, the City of Manvel, Alvin

ISD, and my church home, Redeemer Manvel. In Alvin ISD, I am a YET Mentor and have served on the School Boundary Advisory Committee, School District Strategic Planning Committee, and the Alvin ISD Education Foundation. I also served as the Alvin ISD Representative on the Shadow Creek Ranch Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 2 Board. I have lived a life surrounded by public educators. I am the grandson, son, son-in-law, nephew, and husband of current and retired teachers and administrators. My wife Danica, born and raised in Manvel, is a graduate of Alvin High School and has 16 years of service to Alvin ISD. Our daughter is also a current student. I am a proud man of God, I have a passion for people, building relationships, and service to others. As a strong supporter of public education, I look to leverage the experience I have gained through my active civic involvement, along with my business acumen, to serve the Alvin ISD community I love.

To the Alvin ISD community,

I am truly humbled and honored to serve as a School Board Trustee. As a family man, it is my nature to always want the best for my family. As a father, I want the best education and opportunities for my children, and as the husband of an educator, I want the best working environment for my wife. As an Alvin ISD Trustee, it is my duty to pursue those same outcomes for every student attending an Alvin ISD school, and for every teacher and staff member serving our students and community. I am deeply committed to these efforts, and I hope that through my decisions and actions, I will gain your trust and continued support.

A Very Special Book Bus Guest Reader Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, as we continue celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Alvin ISD Book Bus, we are especially proud to welcome one of our very own Alvin ISD students as a guest reader!

Meet AaRon Brooks, a 9-year-old student from Red Duke Elementary and a best-selling author whose passion is helping children understand and manage their emotions.

AaRon will be sharing his inspiring book, Turbo’s Big Red Switch, with children and families visiting the Book Bus. Through his story, young readers learn valuable emotional regulation skills in a fun, engaging, and relatable way.

There is something truly special about seeing a young author inspire other children to read, dream, create, and believe in themselves. We hope you'll join us in celebrating AaRon's incredible accomplishment and supporting one of Alvin ISD's brightest young leaders!

Tuesday, June 2
Pomona Recreational Center | 10:30–11:30 AM
H-E-B Pearland- Shadow Creek | 11:45 AM–12:45 PM

🚧 Construction Notification for Alvin High School.

Construction updates are coming to Alvin High School as part of the voter-approved 2024 Bond program.

Beginning May 26, 2026, major construction activity will begin on the Johnson Street side of campus. During this phase of construction, there will be no public or operational access to Alvin High School from Johnson Street through at least late summer 2027. The Johnson Street entrance area will serve as construction access only.

Starting May 26, the Alvin High School front office will relocate near Memorial Stadium by the Auxiliary Gym at:

1305 W. Dumble Street
Alvin, TX 77511

Visitors, parents, and community members needing access to the front office should enter campus from W. Dumble moving forward.

Directional signage will be posted along S. Johnson Street, near the Horseshoe entrance, and around the stadium to help guide visitors to the new office location. Visitor parking will be available at the relocated front office entrance.

These improvements are part of the 2024 Bond program and include:
• Expansion of classroom and instructional spaces
• Additional capacity for approximately 400–500 students
• Updated Career and Technical Education (CTE) spaces, including replacement of the Luke Kennedy CTE Building
• Repurposing the old auditorium space into the future main entrance of the campus

We appreciate the community’s patience and support as these improvements help prepare Alvin High School to serve future generations of Yellowjackets.

That’s a wrap on the 2025–2026 Alvin ISD graduation season! 🎓

4️⃣ days, 5️⃣ graduations, 2️⃣,2️⃣9️⃣3️⃣ graduates, and no rain! 🙌🏼

Participating in our high school graduations is my absolute favorite thing to do as a school board member and a reminder of why I love serving. This year, I participated in 4 of the 5 graduations, missing Iowa Colony’s due to a work conference.

Behind every graduate is a story filled with hard work, sacrifices, friendships, growth, and people who believed in them every step of the way. It takes an entire community pouring into EACH STUDENT, EVERY DAY, to make these moments possible.

As Superintendent Carol Nelson enters retirement after 3️⃣ decades in education, I’m especially grateful for the steady leadership and care she has brought to Alvin ISD. Her commitment to our students, staff, and families has helped shape this district in meaningful ways, and her legacy will continue long after this graduation season. We love you Carol!

Congratulations again to the Class of 2026! Your school community is proud of you, your families are proud of you, and your future is bright. Whether it’s remembering that Jacket Pride Never Dies, carrying the Hoka Hey spirit, keeping those Fins Up, Blazing Your Trail, or continuing to Rise Up & Burn Blue, the impact you leave on this world will always reflect where you came from and the community that helped shape you here in Alvin ISD.

Now go out and enjoy the journey ahead. Godspeed. 🙏🏼
