Manvel VFD Received Grant from Fire House Subs Public Safety Foundation

As first responders continue serving Manvel and the surrounding area, it is essential that Manvel Volunteer Fire Department has the tools needed to respond effectively in emergencies. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation® has recognized this need and recently awarded the department a $17,388 grant to purchase 46 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) Face Masks and accessories.

The new SCBAs will replace end of life equipment and increase the number of breathing devices available. This equipment is basic life support for first responders. The increased number will strengthen emergency response efforts and improve outcomes when seconds matter most.

“We are extremely grateful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs® restaurant in Manvel, Texas, for this vital support,” said Ricky Burleson, Fire Chief of the Manvel Volunteer Fire Department. “Having reliable, up-to-date equipment enhances our ability to protect lives and better serve our community.”

For more than 20 years, charitable donations have powered the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation’s mission to support first responders and public safety organizations nationwide. Since 2005, the Foundation has awarded more than 7,100 grants totaling over $105 million to public safety organizations.

It’s always wonderful to hear from the community members we are able to serve. This post was made on Talk of Manvel today. Thank you for the kind words!

A huge shout out to Manvel EMS for their quick response time to get my butt off the floor again. After all the exercises I do, my legs just don't have the strength to get myself out of my recliner and into my wheelchair. It wasn't a fall, just another slide off my chair.
They were the sweetest 2 people you'd ever hope to meet.
I just had a total knee replacement done Tuesday. They make you exercise all day long and it takes all your energy.
The EMS/EMT were here in 10 minutes. They gave us tips on how to do the transfer.
I don't know their names but they know who they are 💙🩷💙🩷
