Fort Jesup Fort Jesup State Historic Site is the site of an early 1820s United States Military installation. frontier and also served as the headquarters for the U.S.

Fort Jesup State Historic Site is the original location of a United State military fort, which was first established in 1822 and was later disbanded in 1847. The fort was open for 25 years, and was the western most fort on the U.S. Department of the Southwest. Admission is $4.00 for those 13-61, children 12 and under as well as seniors 62 and over get in free.

Fort Jesup SHS will be open on Thursday, July 4th for tours of the museum and original kitchen building as well as use of the grounds. We hope everyone has a wonderful Independence Day.
