August 2021 Run Report

The following is the break down for the month of August. EMS continues to dominate the call volume. It is important to understand that this is only the run report for Central and does not include the calls from the other two districts.

In an effort to keep up with the high call volume, Central Sabine Fire will be providing 24hr shifts for the remainder of the year. This will begin on October 1st. This will allow the department to continue to provide a faster response for emergencies.

Central Sabine Fire was dispatched to a three vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 171 and Fisher Road.

Firefighters made contact with the passengers involved in the accident and directed traffic to ensure the safety of the patients and first responders.

Members of Central Sabine Fire responded to a one vehicle accident on Texas Highway near Highway 476. The passengers were transported to SMC by MedExpress. The weather can play a role in visibility and should affect your driving behavior. When driving in rainy conditions, remain alert, adjust your driving speed, and always wear a seatbelt.

Members of Central Sabine Fire responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on Texas Highway. Upon arrival, firefighters made contact with the driver, who was not injured.

Central Sabine Fire was dispatched to a medical emergency at the Middle Creek Apartments. Engine 12 responded.

Central Sabine Fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire in Many. Engine 12 responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the department investigators. Pictured below is Engine 12 at the scene.

Central Sabine Fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire. Central Sabine Fire Investigators requested assistance from the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. This incident is still under investigation.

Central Sabine Fire was requested to establish a landing zone for Air Evac. Units landed the helicopter at the intersection of Highway 191 and Turtle Beach Road. Both lanes of travel were temporarily stopped for the safety of all personnel on scene.

It is not uncommon to see a fire engine at a landing zone. The fire engine provides lighting to the scene, emergency warning lights for traffic, and fire suppression in the event the helicopter goes down.
