In partnership with Community Education Youth Enrichment, Osseo Area Schools high school cross country programs will be sponsoring a racing series in September. Events are one mile long races (may be shorter for some runners) for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. These events are great opportunity for students of all skill levels. Complete registration at osseoschools.arux.app.

• Pre-registration is required. Limited walk-up registration will start 30 minutes before each
race. You may participate in any/all of the races.

Now Hiring: Targeted Services Facilitator positions at elementary and middle schools.

Community Education's Targeted Services program is looking for current Osseo Area Schools staff who are interested in being a Facilitator at their school for before school, after school (or both) programs. A teaching license is not required for this casual position, and it can be a “job share” between two staff.

Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Recruiting licensed teachers to teach classes that are both academic and enriching.
• Assisting with recommending and enrolling students into the program classes.
• Managing the snack attendance and tracking.
• Working with Targeted Services administrators to take attendance accurately and in a timely manner.

Seeking staff with:
• A passion for lifelong learning.
• The ability to positively support students and families.
• Knowledge and understanding of positive classroom management techniques.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• The ability to support diverse learners.
• The ability to provide opportunities for students to problem solve, communicate, take responsibility and self-direct.

Early Childhood Screening is a free service for children ages 3 to 5 years old in Osseo Area Schools.

New screening appointments are typically added online on Tuesday's at 9 a.m. for parents/guardians to schedule by calling 763-391-8777 or online at: osseoschools.arux.app/search?sf%5Bcategory%5D%5B%5D=335

Why it matters
Early Childhood Screening identifies needs that may require special attention before a child enters school.

What to expect during the appointment
- Parent/guardian brings child to school for in-person screening appointment with a district screener. The child receives:
- A check of vision, hearing, height, weight and developmental progress.
- A review of immunizations records and family information.
- Parents/guardians receive an individual review of their child's progress and needs.

This summer, more than 6,000 students of all ages took part in Community Education summer programs at school locations across the district. Community education programs included ECFE, Kidstop, Youth Enrichment's Camp ROCKS! Mini Camps, Targeted Services CAMP ROCKS! Academic Adventures, OMG and Game On, Teen Driver's Education and ABE.

As we look ahead to the start of a new school year, thank you to all the staff who worked this summer to support students and make summer learning and fun possible. Your time and dedication helped make this summer a great experience for our students!

All Minnesota K-12 students attending school in person will have a free breakfast and lunch available to them each academic school day due to the state of Minnesota's Free School Meals for Kids bill.
