As we’re all deep in MayCember (you know, that chaotic end-of-year sprint), let’s make dinner easy — a meal is already planned! Just bring the whole crew (and invite your friends & neighbors too!) to the new Culver’s by HyVee (we said it once but yes, we are saying it again)

🎉 Hey Basswood families! Tonight’s the big one!

This is your friendly reminder that our FINAL PTO General Meeting of the 2025-2026 school year is happening TONIGHT — Thursday, May 14th from 6:30-8:00pm in the Basswood Elementary Media Center!

Flyers have been coming home for two weeks, so this should officially be on your calendars… right? 😉

Come get the latest scoop, help approve next year’s budget & board, hear the State of the School, and enjoy light refreshments + childcare (yes, we’ve got you covered!).
Pro tip: The PTO isn’t scary — we don’t bite (unless you bring cookies, then all bets are off 🍪).

🎉 Basswood Staff Appreciation Luncheon! 🏅

Yesterday we celebrated our incredible team with a fun Olympics-themed Staff Appreciation Luncheon! It was such a special day to honor our staff for all their hard work, dedication, and for being truly amazing to work with every single day.

We enjoyed a fantastic lunch from Lotus in Maple Grove — hot, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! Thank you for spoiling our team with such great food. We love supporting local businesses and Basswood alumni families — it makes these moments even better.

A big THANK YOU to our outstanding staff for everything you do. And to our wonderful Basswood community and alumni — thank you for all your support in making this week extra special!

🎉 Basswood Carnival is TODAY! 🎡

Presale wristbands went home with students on Wednesday — so if you haven’t seen yours yet, it’s time to check the backpack!

If you weren’t sure about your plans and now you’re feeling the FOMO… good news! Wristbands will be available at the door tonight.

This is such a fun Basswood community event that’s perfect for all ages and guaranteed to create those special core memories with your family! We’d love to see you and your kids there.
Doors open at 5:30 PM!

We also can’t pull off events like this without amazing volunteers. If you’re able to help, please check out the open volunteer slots — every hand makes a difference! Got older kids? Sign them up too — they’ll love being part of the fun!

🎉 We had a fantastic Olympic Staff Appreciation event at Basswood after school, Wednesday!

It was a joyful celebration filled with laughter, friendly competition, and the special culture and community spirit that makes Basswood so unique. Our amazing staff deserves every bit of it! Thank you to our PTO community for making this event possible!

A big thank you to Edible Arrangements in Maple Grove — a proud Basswood family — for donating the most amazing Olympic-themed arrangements! They were delicious, beautifully designed, and perfectly on theme. They’re so easy to work with and offer great customization options.

Our Opening Ceremony breakfast kicked off yesterday and Staff Appreciation Week has officially started! A HUGE thank you for all of the donations that the Basswood community has provided to make this week special for our gold medal staff!

REMINDER: You’ll save money by buying wristbands ahead of time, so grab yours BEFORE the end of TODAY!

We also need LOTS AND LOTS of volunteers to help make the day a huge success. Please sign up and split your time — volunteer for a shift and then enjoy the carnival with your family! It’s the perfect way to give back while still making memories together.
