After a multitude of grass fires in Wright County yesterday - it’s time to remind everyone that we are once again under a Red Flag Warning! Please do not burn fields, waste, etc during this time to keep everyone safe.
Today, much of Minnesota is under a Red Flag Warning — meaning fire danger is EXTREME.
This isn’t just “be careful.” This is conditions where one small spark can turn into a fast-moving, uncontrollable fire within minutes.
🔥 What’s causing it:
• Dry conditions
• Low humidity
• Strong winds
🔥 What that means for you:
• NO burning - including brush piles or debris
• Avoid anything that creates sparks (trailers dragging chains, outdoor equipment, etc.)
• Properly dispose of ci******es (don’t toss them out your window)
• Keep vehicles off dry grass
We’ve already seen how quickly fires can spread in conditions like this… and once they take off, they put homes, property, and lives at risk.
💥 If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately.
