Normandale says it has processed nearly 30,000 fraudulent or potentially fraudulent applications. That's just one example of why the legislature earlier this year provided funding for the Minnesota State system to combat ghost student fraud. I'm interested to see if this will allow schools to crack down on this theft or if additional measures are necessary in 2027.

The threat of “ghost students” has become so prevalent at Minnesota’s largest community college that administrators now say nearly a third of all applications to the school are potentially fraudulent.

There's a lot to chew on in this story. But, overall, it paints a picture of the depths to which fraud has infiltrated our state and we need more than lip service to address this problem in the meaningful ways taxpayers deserve.

Do you have unclaimed money or financial assets that you’ve forgotten about, or never knew existed? It happens to more people than you might think. The $100 million Minnesota Promise Act grant program created by the former Democrat trifecta is lacking guardrails to such a degree that records show funds have been awarded to applicants who failed to answer even the most basic questions such as how these funds will help the success of their business, and how they would help them achieve their long-term goals. (See video for more on why these questions are important.) Minnesotans deserve answers for how this was allowed to happen and what is being done to stop it.

The popularity of women’s sports is on the rise. I’m committed to supporting opportunities for female athletes while also protecting the integrity of women’s competition by ensuring these events remain reserved for biological females. Sadly, House Democrats rejected the Preserving Girls’ Sports Act (H.F. 12) time and again during the last two years.

Aug 13 (Reuters) - Women’s sports attracted 28.6 billion minutes of views in the U.S. in the first half of 2026, a Nielsen report released on Thursday showed, marking an 18% increase over the same period ‌last year. Women’s sports entered 2026 on a hi...

A KSTP investigation found that many felony fraud cases in Minnesota are resolved through plea agreements that reduce the charges to gross misdemeanors ... or less. When offenders avoid felony convictions, it undermines the accountability we need to address our state's fraud problem.

A 5 INVESTIGATES analysis of Medicaid fraud cases charged by the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office found only a portion of defendants charged with a felony end up with a felony on their record.

Somali-led cartels reportedly are fueling Kenya's real estate boom with American fraud money. It's driving inflation that has left the middle-class people and the poor of Kenya struggling to survive. Here's more, including some heart-wrenching stories I've heard.

Minnesota's new paid leave program is making headlines after the state paid out about $600 million in benefits while bringing in just $344 million in revenue.
