You may be familiar with the public safety campaign known as the “9PM Routine.” This campaign reminds residents to lock their vehicle doors each night to help prevent vehicle burglaries.
The video below shows how quickly these crimes can occur when thieves target a neighborhood. This incident occurred in Maple Shade Township while a Maple Shade Police Officer was actively patrolling the neighborhood.

Shortly after this video was recorded, the officer attempted to stop the vehicle for a motor vehicle violation. At the time of the attempted stop, the officer was not aware that the vehicle was being used in connection with the vehicle burglaries. The vehicle refused to stop and sped off at a high rate of speed.

Please remember to lock your vehicle doors every night, remove valuables from your vehicle, and commit to the 9PM Routine. A few seconds can help prevent you from becoming a victim.
