The Northern Maine Fair opens Wednesday, August 5th at 2:00 pm! 😀

The Mapleton Lions Den Food Booth will be open and serving your fair favorites. Lion Rick Fowler is the new “Mapleton Lions Den” manager this year. To mark his new leadership of this annual fundraising project, the club will be once again offering delicious chicken fingers on our menu. In addition to chicken fingers, we will also be serving everyone’s favorite burgers, hot dogs, and fair sausages, along with french fries, poutine, and delicious doughboys!

The fair’s gates will open at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and the Lions Den will be open 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On Saturday August 8th, the serving hours will be 11:00 am to 10:00 PM and Sunday 12:00PM to 6:00PM.

Just like last year, the Lions Club will have two serving lines. One will be for regular food items, and the second line will be for doughboys only. The two-line setup speeds up purchases of food and allows things to be more efficient.

We are eagerly preparing so that everyone that visits our food booth will have an enjoyable meal, and can't wait to see you! Funds raised through the serving of good food will help the Lions Club continue to develop the new Willard C. Doyen and Family Field as well as buy items for the Town Food Closet, buy eyeglasses, support Quoggy Jo Youth Skiing, and support the Mapleton Recreation Program and its Little League Program.

Did you know? DID YOU KNOW?!

This Friday is our annual chicken BBQ as part of the Mapleton Daze festivities!

Each year our bbq has been one of the staples of the Mapleton Daze tradition, and we look forward to seeing everyone come out and be a part of it!

We will be serving our delicious meal rain or shine at the Lions Hall at the center of town beginning at 4:30pm, where you will be able to sit and eat with us, or take your meal drive-through style up to the school to enjoy the live music that will be taking place! The cost is $15 per meal, and includes the chicken, sides, and a drink!

There will be picnic tables set up at both the Lions Hall and the the school for you to sit and enjoy!

The bbq is not only one of the many Mapleton Daze activities taking place, but is also one of our annual fundraisers that help us give back to our community. One of our current projects is the development of the property adjacent to the pool and soccer field area. You can drive by and see some of that work taking place already!

So, come help us SELL OUT of our meals :-D ! We love to see you, and appreciate all the continued support!

Today, we remember those who went before us to secure and protect our liberties and freedom that we enjoy. The Mapleton Lions Club continues to remember their many sacrifices, realizing these sacrifices purchased the liberty we have today.

Even though our formal remembrance ceremony could not be held today at the Veterans Monument at the Mapleton Elementary School, the Lions Club placed decorations at the monument to honor the sacrifices made.

The Remembrance Ceremony is a solemn occasion when we think of the losses suffered on behalf of our families, our friends and our country. Today’s decorations honor those who gave their youth, their minds and spirit, their bodies, and even their lives for all that they held dear. We thank everyone who has supported the Mapleton Lions Club as we honor those who went before us and for us.

Due to the forecasted weather tomorrow, we unfortunately will be canceling this year's Memorial Day parade and ceremony.

A lot of work goes into setting things up and building floats, and we don't want everyone getting stuck in the rain.

We hope everyone will spend the day honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. It is because of them that we get to enjoy days with our loved ones.

Despite the weather, enjoy the day with your family and friends, and we will see everyone at Mapleton Daze in a few weeks!
