It sits on the banks of the Maple River. The population was 762 at the 2010 census. Mapleton serves as a bedroom community of the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area. The core cities are ten miles to the east of Mapleton.

Just a reminder, candidates for city elected positions could begin circulating their nominating positions on January 1st. The nominating petitions and statements of interests forms are available on the North Dakota Secretary of State’s webpage at https://vip.sos.nd.gov/PortalListDetails.aspx?ptlhPKID=29&ptlPKID=3 -start.

These forms are also available at the city office or on the city website.

Deadline for submission of these forms is 4:00 on April 6, 2020 at the city Office.
