Maplewood II

Maplewood II Experience the Magic! For those who worked there or enjoyed seeing movies there. Following the success of its sister theater Maplewood I, Maplewood II (aka.

Or if you just went to see a movie there because there was no other alternative... OR if you wished you worked there or had the opportunity to see a movie there! UA Cinema 6, Movies at Maplewood II, M2, MapleHOOD II) was erected by United Artists Theatres around 1981 in a swampy lot in Maplewood, Minnesota, on the corner of Beam Avenue and Southlawn Drive. It housed 6 auditoriums and could boast a

wonderful painted mural in the projection booth. In 2001, it held the premiere of the independent feature film "Get It!". Shortly after the film premiere, United Artists Theatres was purchased by Regal Cinemas (creating the Regal Entertainment Group) in order to save both companies from bankruptcy. The purchase eventually led to the theater's closing and destruction around the Christmas of 2002. The former home of Maplewood II is now a "Park & Ride" for the Metro Transit bus line...

This page is to preserve the memory of this wonderful theater!
