Holi Festival - AAPI Heritage Month 2026

Celebrate HoliFestNJ

Join SOMA Cross Cultural Works (CCW) in partnership with the Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture for a vibrant celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with Holi – the Festival of Colors.

Holi is a joyful and ancient Indian festival that marks the arrival of spring, the triumph of good over evil, and above all, the celebration of love in all its forms. It’s a time when communities come together in an explosion of color, laughter, and connection.

At HoliFestNJ, everyone is invited to join the fun! People playfully throw colored powder at one another, dance to music, and revel in the spirit of unity. Traditionally, Holi breaks down all barriers—young or old, rich or poor—everyone joins in the celebration.

The Ugo and Maxine Giannini event was truly extraordinary. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the evening.

The film Ugo: An Artist at War was captivating, and The Great Hall was filled to capacity. The artwork displayed in the parlor was remarkable and added so much to the experience.

Our gratitude goes to Maxine and Mark Giannini for sharing this powerful documentary with us and for the thoughtful conversation that followed, offering deeper insight into the film.

Thank you to Steve Nemsick for directing and creating such an exceptional piece of work.

We also appreciate the Maplewood Arts Council for their interest in bringing this event to the community, and heartfelt thanks to the entire Maplewood Division of Arts and Culture for their hard work in making the evening possible.
