Uncovering the History of Marana Schools

In this year’s issue of the Horizon, the District's print magazine, we dug into the history of Marana Schools over the past 115 years. From scattered board-and-canvas classrooms serving railroad and farming communities, to the Marana High School we know it today opening in 1975 way off Emigh Road, to junior high students being the first class of students to enroll at Mountain View in the late 80s, our history highlights the good that can happen when communities support their local public K-12 schools. Take a minute to learn all about the history of and the community we call home!

Arriving in mailboxes this week, The Horizons annual magazine for features Sports Medicine CTE students from Marana High School and Mountain View High School, who work behind the scenes to tape ankles, monitor hydration, document injuries, and respond to emergencies of fellow high school student athletes.

As one of MUSD’s most popular CTE programs, Sports Medicine gives students valuable real-world, hands-on experience that prepares them for careers in health care, athletics, and related fields.

Nearly all Sports Medicine students earn CPR/AED and First Aid certification, with many also completing Stop the Bleed and OSHA-10 safety program. Students who complete the full pathway and pass the Technical Skill Assessment receive a CTE Sports Medicine Program Completer certificate.
