This summer, Marana Cares Mobile is serving hot and nutritious lunches to all children under the age of 18 at two locations in the community. The air conditioned bus runs year-round during breaks and when school is not in session to ensure kids have access to healthy meals.

📅May 26 – July 24, 2026. No service on July 4. Students must eat lunch on the bus.

Uncovering the History of Marana Schools

In this year’s issue of the Horizon, the District's print magazine, we dug into the history of Marana Schools over the past 115 years. From scattered board-and-canvas classrooms serving railroad and farming communities, to the Marana High School we know it today opening in 1975 way off Emigh Road, to junior high students being the first class of students to enroll at Mountain View in the late 80s, our history highlights the good that can happen when communities support their local public K-12 schools. Take a minute to learn all about the history of and the community we call home!

Huge shoutout to VAPTO!

There may only be four of them, but this group has shown up in a BIG way for our scholars, teachers, and staff this year. From organizing staff luncheons and supporting StuCo events to helping make our first annual Block Party a success and hosting restaurant night fundraisers, they have gone above and beyond for our school community.

We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart they pour into Marana Vista Academy. Thank you for always stepping up, supporting our scholars and staff, and helping make this year so special!

For our final Fred challenge of the year, students were tasked with designing a paper airplane capable of carrying Fred safely through the skies! Teams tested different designs, adjusted for balance and distance, and used creativity and problem-solving to improve their flights.

There were plenty of crashes, redesigns, and successful takeoffs as students worked together to help Fred soar. It was a fun and engaging way to celebrate teamwork, perseverance, and innovation as we close out the school year!
