Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys extends enormous Gratitude to Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters for their generous support of affordable homeownership in the Middle Keys!!! Their donation of $200,000 as a full-home sponsor of our most recent build at 105th Street Marathon is monumental to the success of our mission.
Habitat Middle Keys' partnership with Aquarium Encounters as a Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP) donor began in 2024. Together we have built two amazing homes that were sold to hard working families on our island.
CCTCP is a State of Florida incentive program to encourage Florida businesses to make donations toward our building efforts. We're excited to share that Habitat Middle Keys has secured more land to build two brand-new homes. These will be sold to hardworking, long-term residents of our community: the teachers, nurses, tradesmen/women and other essential personnel who keep our island running but have been priced out of owning a home here.

On July 1st, we celebrated our 49th-, 50th-, and 51st-homeowner families right here on 105th Street. Three families, one community, and a whole lot of proud faces under the tent as the ribbon was cut.

This is what affordable homeownership looks like when a whole island builds together: donors who gave, neighbors who volunteered, and families who put in hundreds of hours of sweat equity to earn their keys.

First Horizon has once again proven their "Strong commitment to our communities" by awarding Habitat Middle Keys with a wonderful grant in the amount of $10,000 that will be used directly toward the completion costs of our most recent duplex build on 105th Street. First Horizon's support of the mission of Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys to create affordable homeownership in the Middle Keys is vital to the organization and our island.
