All Right, the wait is finally over.... we are ready to start taking orders for eggrolls!!!!!

To Order:

The fundraiser will be held on October 15th, 2025
from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (with a limited number sold during this time, during time slots) and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Village Hall.

We have 2 options to choose from this year: Veggie and Pork.

We will be selling eggrolls by the ½ dozen and dozen only.
This year we are also offering eggrolls to be sold as frozen (uncooked) only.

$12 for a ½ dozen CASH ONLY $24 for a dozen

Eggroll orders can be picked up on the day of the event:

For the 11:30am to 12:30p time frame, we will be fulfilling orders in 15-minute time slots. We will do 3 orders of a dozen cooked rolls every 15 minutes (4 time slots total). These 12 slots are filled on a first come first serve basis. Please use the email below or message us on Facebook to reserve a time slot. You may also order frozen (uncooked) eggrolls to be picked up with your order at this time. (P.S. we are trying the time slots this year for the lunch time hour to see how it goes. Please be patient with this as it is an experiment.)

For the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. serving hours, the eggrolls will be served on a first come, first served basis.

This is a pre-order event only, so we know how much of the ingredients and supplies we need to purchase.

To order:

For placing your eggroll order, please email [email protected] with the subject line Eggroll Order and include in the email your full name and how many eggrolls you would like (order in half dozen or dozen only). Please also specify how you would like your eggrolls: cooked or frozen (uncooked) and veggie or pork. You may mix and match between frozen (uncooked) and cooked and veggie or pork.

A message can be left to us on Facebook Messenger as well, with the above information.

Pre-Orders will be accepted until October 1st, 2025

Same day orders will only be fulfilled if there are any leftover ingredients from preorders. They will be available for purchase at the end of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.

**** If you are still reading this until the end, thank you!

We will also be making the egg rolls ahead of time this year, so if you would like to help out with that or learn how they are made, stop by the Village Hall Community Room on Sunday, October 12th at noon. We will be here until all the eggrolls are made.

We will have some snacks and drinks for the volunteers who help us out and a tv to watch the Packer game if we are still working hard.

Hello all,

We have received several inquiries on whether we are going to make eggrolls again this year. After talking with everyone in the department, we have decided that we will do an eggroll fundraiser again this year!!!!!!

Over the last few weeks Sarge has been working on perfecting his recipe, along with cooking them in different ways. We know last year several people took them home and froze them to cook later. So, we have been working on perfecting the cooking method of frozen eggrolls as well (which means lots of “tests” by Chief Geske with free eggrolls from Sarge to cook at home😊).

With selling them frozen last year and the cooking trials this year we have found out a few different things.

1) We have found that we can cook eggrolls from frozen. Both Sarge and Chief are working on how to cook them from frozen and how to cook them if you thaw them from frozen to provide you the best ways possible to do so.

2) We have also realized that we can deep fry them from frozen as well.

We say all of that to get to this…………. We still want to be able to do an eggroll fundraiser. But we are asking for your help with it to make it even more successful this year!

We are looking for volunteers again that are willing to come help make the eggrolls. Since we have learned they can be cooked from frozen in the deep fryer and turn out delicious yet (at least according to Sarge) we are thinking about making them in 1 of 2 ways this year.

Our thoughts being:

- First, we would do preorders again to know how many we need to make for sure.

- If we get plenty of volunteers, we could make them that day again. Depending on the number of volunteers, we would either just serve them at night again or, if we have enough volunteers, we will look at serving them around the lunchtime hour and evening hours, with pick up slot times included.

- Our second thought is that since we know we can cook them from frozen we would make them the Sunday before the event and freeze all of them. This would allow us to have a few less volunteers to help and allow more time get them completed.

I know it is a-ways out yet to wait for those delicious egg rolls, but we have set a date of October 15th to serve them. So, if we make them ahead of time, we will look at Sunday, October 12th to do so.

We ask that you let us know if:

A) You are interested in us having another eggroll fundraiser
B) If you can volunteer, what would work better for you to do so, the 12th or the 15th

The number of eggrolls made will depend on the number of volunteers we get to help us. It was fun doing this last year, but we realized it was labor intensive. If we are unable to get volunteers, we may look at limiting the number of eggrolls we sell. If that happens, we would do a preorder again and when the amount we decide on making is spoken for we will stop the preorders.

Thank you all for your support. We look forward to hearing from you on this. Any questions or comments can be emailed to the PD at [email protected]. Please also let us know at that email address if you are interested in helping and what day would work best for you.

Please remember, this is not the preorder time for the eggrolls. We will make another FB post and put fliers up again around the Village letting you know when that time is open.

Thank you!

****Attention Residents****

As a reminder, the Medication Drop box and Sharps Disposal Bin provided in the PD Lobby is a privilege for the residents of the Village.

This morning we located loose medication that was put into the drop box along with needles. The rules for how to package medication properly is posted above the bin, along with what is accepted and what is not. Plastic zip lock bags are provided for your convenance.

Continual failure to follow these rules will result in the bins being removed from the lobby. THIS IS NOT A DISPOSAL BIN for your old prescription bottles, boxes your meds came in, or any other items that are not to be disposed of in the medication drop box or sharps bin.

Please be respectful of the procedures set in place for proper disposal of all items.

Attention Marathon Residents and Guests to our Village!!!!!!

With our annual garage sale extravaganza starting tomorrow, a couple of reminders for everyone as they are searching for their new found treasure(s).

1. Please pay extra attention as you are driving around our wonderful Village. With extra traffic comes extra vehicles and pedestrians to watch out for. Please be mindful as you are driving around looking for your next bargain! Also, please pay extra close attention during shift change and school traffic times (7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.)

2. As a help to our wonderful Postal workers, we ask that you please be mindful of mailboxes and parking in front of them during the morning hours. They ask that you don't park in front of them until around noon during the garage sale days. They informed me that they are usually done delivering mail in the Village around that time. Thanks for your help on this.

Happy garage saleing to all!!!! Hope everyone one finds that hidden treasure you are looking for.

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the Marathon City Police Department and the Marathon City Fire Department each presented Sgt. Lee with Life Saving Pins for his efforts on 8/2/24.

On this date, Sgt. Lee was dispatched to a medical emergency call at Menzer Hardwoods for an unresponsive male patient.

Upon arrival on scene Sgt. Lee found the male to not be breathing and immediately began CPR until a higher level of care was initiated by local Marathon City First Responders.

Care for the male patient was eventually transferred to Edgar EMS along with Wausau Fire Advance Life Support. Upon arrival at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, the male patient was alert, breathing, consciousness and talking with EMS personnel.

Thanks to Sgt. Lee's quick response and life saving measures, along with all responding EMS personnel that day, the male patient was able to walk out of the hospital.

We would like to thank Sgt. Lee for the hard work and dedication that he provides to the Village of Marathon City each shift he works. His commitment to protecting and serving the Village residents does not go unnoticed.

Thank you Julie Gertschen and Darrin Hall for representing the Marathon City Fire Department and Katie Menzer Johnson for stopping by and representing Menzer Hardwoods.
