Today, Burnet County Young Democrats proudly celebrate Juneteenth. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’š

Today we celebrate freedom. We honor resilience. And we recommit ourselves to justice.

Juneteenth marks the day when the last enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, reminding us that freedom delayed is freedom denied.
We celebrate not only the end of slavery, but the strength, perseverance, and courage of those who fought for a more just America. Juneteenth is a reminder that progress has never been automatic it has always been driven by ordinary people willing to stand up for dignity, equality, and opportunity.
As young Democrats, we honor that legacy by continuing the work of building communities where every voice is heard, every person is valued, and freedom is more than a promise it is a reality for all.

Such a sweet moment at City Council last night, to know Ms. Bessie Jackson is to love her! Last night, the Marble Falls City Council proudly proclaimed June 19, 2026, as Juneteenth Day in the City of Marble Falls.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery and serves as a time to reflect on our nationโ€™s history, celebrate freedom, and recognize the ongoing pursuit of equality and opportunity for all.

The City of Marble Falls is honored to recognize this important day and to join communities across the country in commemorating Juneteenth.

We invite residents to take time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the rich history and culture that help make our community stronger.

Good morning, Burnet County Democratic Community!
On behalf of the Burnet County Executive Committee, thank you for your commitment to decency, respect, and democracy. We begin this new term determined to be loud and proud Democrats, supporting Democratic candidates and representing and advocating for YOU in the County and State Democratic Party.

As this term begins, I am offering my personal endorsement of Florisbel Jaramillo and Lane Law, BCDP Precinct Chairs, for SDEC representation in Congressional District 31.
Flor, a first-generation Mexican-American, engaged with us during a NoKings Marble Falls bridge protest. Florisbel stands out for her genuine concern for vulnerable members of our community. She understands the importance of advocacy, fairness, and representation, and she approaches her work with compassion and purpose. Her ability to connect with people, listen thoughtfully, and act with integrity makes her an excellent choice for this role. In addition to grassroots organizing in her Precinct, Flor co-founded a chapter of the Burnet Young Democrats and traveled the District to build vital relationships. I am confident she will represent with enthusiasm and passion for a cohesive Democratic movement in CD 31.
Lane Law, Precinct 12 Chair, walked into a Burnet County Democratic Club event and immediately accepted the challenge to engage the community in conversations that matter. He is a working family man with a passion for advancing democratic values and flipping the tables in Texas politics. Lane has an intuitive understanding of CD 31's organizational needs. Jump in the truck. Heโ€™s out listening across the district, understanding the changing landscape of our rural communities, and bringing back the BLUE.
This is my first statement as the Burnet County Democratic Chair. I endorse Florisbel Jaramillo and Lane Law to represent CD 31 in the Texas Democratic Party.
Roseann Thornton
Burnet County Democratic Chair.
