Marble Charter School is a public K-8 charter school that offers students opportunities to create, prepare and present projects and performances that demonstrate their learning. While MCS does not subscribe to any one particular model of instructional practice, we believe that students should be “doing” and the teachers should be “coaching.” We offer experiences in the outdoors, in the laboratory,
and use our classrooms as workspace. In past years, students have created sustainable environments out of Legos, wrote and performed an original musical based on folk tales, and learned about geology while touring Arches National Park. As often as possible, the teachers use instructional techniques developed by Expeditionary Learning, a constructivist model that encourages inquiry and critical thinking.
