The new 58-14 is one step closer to delivery! The 2026 Rosenbauer Avenger was delivered to Garrison Fire and Rescue Corporation early this week. As more equipment arrives to be mounted, the old 58-14 will be stripped at the firehouse and equipment will be dropped off before its final delivery. Pictured here is the outgoing E-One and the new Rosenbauer.

We again thank the district for their continued support in updating apparatus as older ones reach the end of their life.

These posts are never easy. A week ago Stone Ridge Fire Company lost a member, past secretary, and beloved friend, Annabelle Sarr. The community and people in it are deeply indebted to Annabelle for her years of faithful service to the citizens of the Town of Marbletown, and the greater surrounding area. May she rest in peace. Members of the truck committee are currently in Souix Falls, South Dakota doing a final inspection on our new 58-14, Rosenbauer Avenger. This engine replaces the outgoing E-One 58-14, and will better suit the needs of the district. Once it is delivered it will be lettered, equipment will be mounted, and it will be in service by the end of May.

A special thanks to our Board of Fire Commissioners for their continued support in replacing apparatus.

March has been off to a busy start for SRFC.

In addition to other calls, the most significant of this month has been a mutual aid call to the High Falls Fire District. On Tuesday, March 10th, we were dispatched to a reported brush fire as a result of wires down on Lucas Turnpike. E-58-12 and T-58-11 responded with thirteen personnel and deployed forestry hose as well as a traditional 1 3/4” handling for fire suppression. We overhauled the area and were returned to service by High Falls Fire Command approximately an hour later.

In addition to the brush fire, SRFC has responded to 16 additional calls thus far in March, with several scheduled trainings including CPR taught by the Kingston Fire Department.

Wednesday, February 25th, members conducted weekly training on packaging downed or injured firefighters. We also conducted annual firefighter CPR, which consists of un******ng firefighters from their structural ensamble down to their bunker pants to prepare them to be turned over to EMS.

Did you know Stone Ridge operates a FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) that responds mutual aid to several other agencies and townships when they have a structure fire?

Last night, February 17th, Stone Ridge Fire was dispatched under mutual aid to Lomontville for a reported propane tank explosion with fire spreading to the house. Units were updated while responding that there were possibly still occupants in the residence.

Upon the arrival of 58-12, heavy smoke and fire was pushing from the residence on all sides, as well as a well off camper fire just next to the residence. Members quickly stretcher several handlines from both 58-12 and Lomontville’s engines for interior search and fire suppression. It was quickly determined that all occupants made it safely out of the residence prior to the arrival of fire department personnel.

The fire was brought under control after approximately an hour. Personnel operated on scene for several hours conducting additional suppression, assisting the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit, and performing overhaul before being returned to service by Lomontville Command.

Ultimately Stone Ridge responded with 15 personnel, Engine 58-12, and Tanker 58-10. We would like to extend our thanks to both the Bloomington and High Falls Fire District for providing district coverage while units operated on scene.

Special thanks to Matt and Val for supplying our members and apparatus with the training and equipment for pet oxygen delivery masks!

Tonight, along with my beloved cameraman 📸 and security 🐾, we had the honor of visiting the amazing folks at Stone Ridge Volunteer Fire Company.
We shared a little about our mission and why gifting Pet O2 Masks is such an important part of our foundation. These incredible tools can truly be the difference between life and death for pets rescued from fires and emergencies.
We were proud to present them with 6 Pet O2 Masks, ensuring that ALL of their fire trucks and vehicles are now equipped with this life-saving equipment — something we truly hope they never have to use, but are grateful they now have just in case. ❤️🐶🐱
Thank you to Stone Ridge Fire Department for everything you do for our community every day. We are beyond thankful for your service! 🚒
