The Marceline Police Department provides professional, efficient, and effective law enforcement services within the City of Marceline. With a total of 9 department employees, 7 sworn officers maintain a high level of crime deterrence utilizing highly visible, pro-active patrols and special operations. Through a community policing philosophy, the department provides people- and community-oriented l

aw enforcement services, with excellent community involvement and support. Highly specialized programs and patrols, such as a Traffic Enforcement, Criminal Investigations, Special Multi-Jurisdictional Enforcement, enhance the level of services provided to the community. On Wednesday, May 13, at approximately 1105 hours, a deputy with the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Brunswick, Missouri. The vehicle fled from the deputy, and was later located abandoned southwest of Sumner, Missouri.

Authorities are actively searching for one white male and one white female believed to be Jason Spease and Ashley Howes. At this time, clothing descriptions are unknown.

Jason Spease is known to have violent tendencies, and Ashley Howes is currently listed as a missing person.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged to contact the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department at 660-288-3040. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Congratulation Brenan on job well done!

Yesterday, Marceline High School senior Brenan Fessler signed his letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic pursuits at Hannibal La Grange College. Brenan has been a vital member of our Tigers basketball team the past 2 years and a member of the New Bloomfield team his freshman and sophomore seasons. During his time as a tiger, Brenan had an immense impact on 2 successful seasons and achieved several accolades- earning all conference and all district honors along with KMZU Dream team.

We wish Brenan the best of luck in his future and are proud of all his accomplishments. Congratulations, Brenan .
