Congratulations to Caiden McLymond and Tucker Burnett, the 2026 Section 3 Scholar Athletes for Marcellus!

The seniors were honored Monday at the Section 3 Scholar Athlete awards banquet, where they both received a plaque and merchandise from Section 3. The Section 3 Scholarship Committee also chose Tucker to receive the Inner Harbor Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors Award!

Congratulations to High School students Marissa Sweeney, Seamus Clarke, and Avery Shute for earning national recognition in the 2026 National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Achievement Awards in Writing! ✍️

Marissa earned an Excellent distinction, Seamus received Merit, and Avery was recognized with a Superior distinction.

This year, nearly 700 students from across the United States and several countries, including Canada, Jamaica, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea, and Taiwan, were nominated for the prestigious writing competition. Entries were evaluated by judges from around the world based on expression of ideas, language use, and unique perspective and voice.

Congratulations to these talented writers and to their teachers for this outstanding accomplishment!

Congratulations to senior Brody Mitchell on an outstanding rugby season with the Syracuse Silverbacks! As a team captain and one of just three seniors, Brody helped lead a young team that improved throughout the season and finished with a dominant 89-15 victory over Saratoga Springs.

His strong play and leadership earned him selection to the Western New York All-Star Team, where he will compete against all-star teams from New Jersey and Connecticut on June 13. Best of luck, Brody, and congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
