A Quick Request from Parks and Recreation:

The Facilities Team is currently replacing sod at the Mackle Park and Winterberry Park sports fields, along with the event field at Veterans Community Park. We know the timing of this work, with schools recently back in session, may raise questions. Sod availability was significantly impacted by flooding, which affected multiple sod suppliers, and this was the earliest delivery available to us.

We kindly ask that everyone, children and adults, please stay off and away from the newly sodded areas unless you have received special permission from Park Management. To help the new sod establish, Facilities will be increasing watering to twice a day.

We've already had some youth running through the newly sodded areas, so we’re asking our community to please help us protect these fields while the new sod takes root so they can be enjoyed again as soon as possible.

Today is our final day of Summer Camp, and we want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this season so special! 💛

Camp Mackle is ready for summer fun, and we still have a few spots available for students entering Grades 1-5!

Join us for games, activities, crafts, field trips, and a summer full of fun with friends.

Now Recruiting: Leaders in Training (LITs)!
We're excited to start building our team of LITs for our upcoming Summer Camp programs! This program is designed for High School students who want to gain hands-on experience working with kids while making a positive impact in our community.
Earn valuable volunteer hours (great for Bright Futures & College applications). We're looking for students who are dependable, positive, and enjoy working with children. Please see our flyer with the training dates. Pizza and snacks will be provided!

Bike Event TODAY 4pm-6pm at Veterans Community Park!

Bike Jam Event - Friday, May 1st!
Join us at Veterans Community Park from 4pm - 6pm for an afternoon of fun, activity, and bikes!

The bike portion of this event is open to incoming 6th through 12th graders.

We'll have: Bike ramps & skills demonstrations, Safety & Education information, Hot dogs & snacks, Music and announcements, Casual games around the park.

Everyone is welcome to attend & watch! Riders participating on bikes must have a parent/guardian signed waiver.

A huge THANK YOU to OCMI and Island Bike Shop for going above and beyond to help make this event possible for our kids. We also appreciate the support of DJ Kaz and our local Police and Fire Departments!
