With just two months until the November midterms, recent polling is flashing a warning sign: Democratic voters report greater enthusiasm about voting than Republicans, while cost of living remain a major issue for voters.

COMPLACENCY COULD COST ELECTIONS.

Every vote matters, and turnout will be critical.

FLORIDA PULLS THE PLUG ON FLOCK CAMERAS

Florida is taking action against the rapidly expanding network of AI-powered license plate readers. FDOT has revoked permits for Flock and other license-plate cameras located along state highway rights-of-way and ordered law enforcement agencies to remove them within 30 days, citing concerns over misuse, data privacy, and government surveillance. (If a Flock license-plate camera is located on land controlled by FDOT along a state highway, its permit is being revoked, and it must be removed.)

Governor Ron DeSantis says law enforcement needs effective tools to catch criminals, but Florida must not become a “surveillance state.”

This is especially important here in Southwest Florida, where these cameras have become increasingly common.

Where should we draw the line between fighting crime and protecting our privacy and constitutional freedoms?

Lee County Protest ICE

150 protesters in Lee County gathered outside of the Luminary Hotel in downtown Fort Myers where ICE is reportedly staying. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrest of a Mexican national accused of punching and kicking ICE officers during an enforcement operation.

Illegal aliens do not belong in our country, state or local counties....period.

The Naples Republican Club stands with ICE, our Border Patrol, and law enforcement officers who put themselves at risk enforcing our nation's immigration laws.

N.Y. Gov. Kathy Hochul and self proclaimed "feminist" donned a hijab on Friday while addressing a group of Muslim men at the Islamic Center of New York located in the Bronx. She bent the knee less than two weeks away from remembering 9/ll, the day Islamist Terrorists took down the Twin Towers in New York City. Some may say Hochul wore the hijab out of respect during a Muslim "religious" event. Others believe this was an act of bending the knee to a theocratic, totalitarian political system.

Is this George Orwell's 1984? AI Companies are buying, Scanning, and DESTROYING Books.

AI companies are purchasing large quantities of physical books, cutting off their spines, scanning the pages to help train artificial intelligence, and then destroying the originals, a process known as "Destructive Scanning."

Court documents revealed that Anthropic, the company behind Claude, purchased and scanned millions of books then destroyed them. Booksellers are reporting unusual bulk purchases, and consumer groups are asking the Federal Trade Commission to investigate concerns about Big Tech, copyright, and the potential loss of scarce or out-of-print books. This is about preserving our written history and culture.

Should AI companies be prohibited from destroying scarce or out-of-print books after digitizing them? Why should we be concerned?
