Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are pleased to announce an exciting new course request process for the 2026–2027 school year for all secondary schools.
Beginning March 25, students and parents/guardians will be able to log into Family Portal to view teacher recommendations for the upcoming school year and submit course requests. Course selections are based on established prerequisites and grade-level requirements. Please review the attached instructions and brief video to assist you with this process.
Course Request Window: March 25 through April 8
After April 8, school counselors will meet individually with students to review submitted requests or assist students who did not complete the online process. Families are encouraged to review teacher recommendations carefully and read all information provided on each tab in Family Portal to ensure informed course selections.
If you have questions, please contact your student’s school counselor.
Important Information:
Course selections are requests only. Final course assignments depend on course availability, scheduling constraints, and graduation requirements.
Student schedules will be released during each school’s Open House at the end of August.
Please make selections thoughtfully, as schedule changes for the spring semester are unlikely.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your student’s academic planning and success.

The Class of 2026 Scholarship Award Ceremony will be held on May 13th at 6pm in the Cafeteria. Families of students receiving an award will be sent a formal invitation in the mail closer to the event date. As a reminder, some scholarships will not be announced to the student until the event to remain a surprise, so we will not be able to share the names of the awards in the invitations. "I want to take a moment to recognize and thank our School Resource Officer for the outstanding support he provides every single day. He is consistently present for both students and staff—whether we call on him or not—and his reliability brings a sense of calm and security to our building. His kindness, professionalism, and steady demeanor make a meaningful difference in our school community.

He interacts with students and parents with genuine respect, clear communication, and a willingness to listen. His guidance is always informative, and he takes the time to explain situations thoroughly, so everyone feels supported and understood. Whether helping, building relationships, or stepping in when needed, he does so with integrity and care.

We are truly fortunate to have him as part of our school family, and I am grateful every day for the positive impact he has on our students, staff, and families." - Mardela Middle and High School
