What a perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ

On Wednesday, May 27, Iowa Valley Elementary students had an amazing time spending the day at the Marengo Aquatic Center. From swimming and splashing to making memories with friends, this adventure was truly a highlight of the school year and one our students will remember throughout their elementary experience.

A huge THANK YOU to the Iowa Valley Elementary PTO and the City of Marengo, Iowa for coordinating this special opportunity for our students. We are so grateful for the support and experiences that help make Iowa Valley such a special place to learn and grow! ๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค

Free summer meals begin tomorrow at Iowa Valley Elementary! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽ

Through the SUN Meals program and our partnership with Opaa! Food Management, Inc., all children ages 18 and under can receive FREE breakfast and lunch this summer.

There were plenty of laughs and lots of โ€œnew inkโ€ at Iowa Valley Elementary yesterday during our PTO-sponsored โ€œTat a Teacherโ€ fundraiser! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜„

Students and families purchased temporary tattoos and selected which staff members would proudly sport the designs. During Thursdayโ€™s assembly, students got to enjoy a fun runway show featuring teachers and staff showing off their tattoos for everyone to see!

Thank you to the Iowa Valley Elementary PTO for organizing this creative and entertaining fundraiser. We appreciate everyone who participated and helped support our PTO through this memorable event! โค๐Ÿ–ค

Our schoolwide Tigertastic Day celebration will take place on Thursday, May 28!

Students will spend the day participating in fun activities with their classmates and staff, as we recognize their hard work and positive Tiger Pride behavior throughout the year with:

HISTORY WAS MADE at Iowa Valley Elementary! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ”ฅ

Last week, Iowa Valley Elementary sent its FIRST-EVER delegation to the Special Olympics Iowa Summer Games in Ames! Our Tigers made this an unforgettable milestone for our school community. ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ…

Before heading to Ames, our athletes received an incredible sendoff through the halls of Iowa Valley Elementary, with students and staff lining the hallways to cheer them on. The energy, pride, and support in that moment made it something theyโ€™ll never forget. ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿ‘

All spring long, our delegation members worked hard and showed true determination as they trained for the 50m dash, 100m dash, tennis ball throw, and softball throw.

On Friday, May 22nd, our Tigers competed at Iowa State University alongside more than 2,500 talented athletes from across Iowa at the stateโ€™s largest Special Olympics event. From the Opening Ceremony at Hilton Coliseum to the Olympic Festival and every moment in between, the experience was filled with inspiration, friendship, and joy.

And our athletes truly SHINED: ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿฅ‡ Wyatt Driscoll โ€“ 50m dash (1st place)

Beyond the medals, this experience was about pride, perseverance, inclusion, and celebrating what our students can achieve when they are supported and empowered.

Athletes also enjoyed the Olympic Festival, made new friends from across the state, and took part in activities celebrating health, wellness, and inclusion.

We are SO proud of our students for representing Iowa Valley with courage, determination, and Tiger pride. This is just the beginning of an amazing new tradition for our school community. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿงก

Thanks to our PTO, the pool has been reserved for all Kโ€“6th grade students! Each grade level will have approximately 30 minutes to swim.

Please send:

Certified lifeguards and school staff will supervise students throughout the event.

Today weโ€™re proud to recognize Kiley Koenig, Iowa Valleyโ€™s school nurse and an essential part of our school community.

Kiley is employed by Compass Memorial Healthcare, whose partnership generously provides a full-time school nurse to support our district.

As our school nurse, Kiley wears many hats. She provides direct care for students, manages health needs, supports special education teams, enters and monitors health records, ensures compliance with health requirements, leads health education and screenings, responds during crisis situations, coordinates resources for families, and serves as an important link between school, healthcare providers, and the community.

Kileyโ€™s work reaches far beyond the nurseโ€™s office. She supports students, office staff, teachers, and administration while also balancing the behind-the-scenes paperwork and planning that help keep our schools running smoothly.

Thank you to all of the compassionate school nurses for bringing empathy, dedication, and comfort to our campuses day in and day out. The care you provide goes beyond bandages and thermometersโ€”you are a calm, steady presence for so many students who need a helping hand and a kind heart.
