๐ฅ FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL โ HEAT PREPAREDNESS ๐ฅ
Weโre excited for Iowa Valley Tiger Football tomorrow night, but with warm conditions expected, player and fan safety is a priority! We have a comprehensive heat preparedness plan in place to help keep our athletes, officials, and fans safe.
๐ฅ Medical Support
* Certified athletic trainers from Compass Memorial Healthcare will be on site for both Iowa Valley and Belle Plaine Jr/Sr High.
* As always, Iowa County EMS will be on site with an ambulance and two EMTs to assist fans and the general public, as well as provide additional support if needed.
* A physician will also be on site.
* A dedicated cooling station with an immersion tub and shaded tent will be available for emergency cooling.
๐ง FANS โ PLEASE COME PREPARED!
We strongly encourage everyone attending the game to:
* Bring plenty of water and/or electrolyte drinks and drink regularly throughout the evening.
* Bring cooling towels, personal fans, misting fans, or other cooling items if you have them.
* Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, breathable clothing.
* Take breaks from the heat as needed. Donโt wait until you feel sick to cool down or hydrate.
* Check on those around you, especially young children, older adults, and anyone who may be more susceptible to heat-related illness.
* If you begin feeling dizzy, nauseous, weak, confused, unusually tired, or otherwise unwell, get out of the heat and seek medical assistance immediately.
๐ GAME OPERATIONS
We will also be following IHSAA heat guidelines based on the WBGT reading at kickoff. Depending on conditions, mandatory hydration breaks will be incorporated throughout the game.
Our goal is simple: enjoy a great night of football while taking care of one another. Please plan ahead, stay hydrated, keep cool, and donโt hesitate to ask for help if you need it.
We appreciate everyoneโs cooperation and look forward to seeing you at the game!
Go Tigers! ๐ฏ
