Please join us next week on Tuesday, September 8th at 5pm for Prepare with Pedro!

The Prepare with Pedro program focuses on emergency preparedness and education for children ranging from Pre-K through 2nd grade. Through a combination of storytelling, hands-on activities, and audience questions, students will learn about emergency preparedness and coping skills that can be used during an emergency.

This is a 30–45 minute presentation that covers a range of topics, including tornadoes, home fires, flooding, and handwashing, among others. Each student receives their own copy of the story presented to take home.

If the library does not have a film or series you are looking for, you may find it on a Roku from our Library of Things! With your library card, you may check out a device for free that has been pre-loaded with popular streaming services.

Please note: the Roku will only work if you are using it in the city of Marengo. We hope to expand our reach in the future. However, you may log in using your personal streaming accounts to bypass this.

Although we are a fine-free library, any overdue items from our Library of Things are the exception and will accrue a fine of $1/day.

In honor of Library Card Sign-Up Month, new Marengo-Union Library patrons are eligible to pick up a limited edition Beagle Scouts library card featuring Snoopy and Woodstock!

In 1974 Charles M. Schulz introduced readers to the Beagle Scouts, Snoopy’s rag-tag group of outdoor adventurers including Woodstock and other feathered friends. Special thanks to Peanuts Worldwide and the American Library Association for this fun collaboration!
