The 1st Grade Reading Buddy is in full swing! Each first grade student gets to train a buddy to be a service animal in the area of listening to the their owner read. Buddy’s are not allowed to play so their owner have to teach them to sit still and have be good listeners to whomever is reading.

Later this year, the buddies will learn the transition from library to classroom. At the end of the year, they will get to take their fully trained buddies home to encourage reading. (Mrs. Gunzenhauser’s Class)

This week our preschool and kindergarten classes, we talked about tattling. We read the book Mile McHale Tattle tale and we learned a little pledge.

“If A Friend is sick, hurt, or in harms way then telling someone is okay.

If it is sickness, danger or bullying I see. I will mind my own business and worry about me.”
