On MONDAY 9/8/25, Street crews will begin Seal Coat on the following streets:
- E & W Washington St (behind the courthouse) from Austin St to Spring St.
- E Lincoln St, from Russell St to the eastern city limits end.
- N Nevill St, from Columbia St down to Oak St
- N Aparejo St, from E Lincoln St down to Oak St.

**If you live on these streets, please be sure to move your vehicles Off the street TONIGHT and plan not to park on the streets for the entirety of tomorrow.
This street resurfacing will only take a few hours.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS:
The time has finally come for construction crews to begin repaving a few streets! While there are 5 streets on the list to be repaved, Russell St is the first one they will begin with. From Hwy 90 to Columbia St, Russell St will be completely overhauled. This construction will bring many detours to the adjacent streets. Please see the map attached for a general idea of the proposed intersection closures and please plan your detour route(s) accordingly. Construction is scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 13th.
We understand these temporary closures and detours will be annoying and/or inconvenient, however, the repaving of this street, and the others, is imperative. We appreciate your patience and cooperation over the next few weeks while all 5 streets are repaved. We will post updates on the remaining 4 streets as we have detour maps available.

9:25am: We received word that the train will begin trying to re-link its cars soon. This will again block ALL crossings for up to 5 hours. The crossings that are currently open will no longer be open. Golf Course Rd (beer can alley) crossing will be open. *this is a steep incline crossing with a rough road. And the crossing under the bridge near Sal si puedes / Dollar General can be utilized. *this is an off-road path. Please use caution if using the route under the bridge.

8:10am: UPDATE: Highland Ave and Austin St crossings are open!

7:22am: We are aware that a train has detached from itself and has abruptly stopped in town, unfortunately blocking All crossings in Marfa. We do not have an approximate time frame for this blocking. Please use the Golf Course Rd crossing aka “beer can alley” to navigate to and from town. Remember there is construction on 90 E. We will update our fb page as we receive updates.

The City Hall, Nutrition Center, USO - Visitor Center and the Library are all without power and phones at this time. AEP is working to restore power, but these winds are dangerous and expected to worsen throughout the day.

Marfa Community:
We have yet another MAJOR Water Leak in the city's main line near S. Summer St and W. Galveston St. The city's crew will be working on this repair for most of the day. Residents in the area of this intersection please expect low water pressure until the repair is complete. Thank you for your patience!
