Have you ever visited the Margate War Memorial located at Mansfield and Ventnor Avenues? The first monument was erected in 1937 to honor those who fought in World War I. The $1,000 (approximately $23,000 today when adjusted for inflation) needed was raised by the community. Over time monuments were added to the site dedicated to veterans of World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Persian Gulf War.

This Sunday, April 12th, will be the April Fools Half Marathon. The race course will take the runners into Margate along the beach side of Atlantic Avenue up to the area of Gladstone Ave.

Parking restrictions will be posted and enforced along the race route with vehicles in violation being towed. Please use caution when traveling in the area on that day.
