Long-term affordability is about more than just the mortgage it’s also about keeping monthly expenses manageable.

That’s why energy efficiency is such an important part of every home we build. The additional energy-efficient upgrades we invest in today can help lower utility bills for years to come throughout the lifetime of the home.

At Chipola Area Habitat for Humanity, every home we build is ENERGY STAR® certified, helping our homeowners enjoy a home that is more efficient, comfortable, and affordable to maintain.

We’re not just building houses, we’re building strength, stability, and long-term affordability for families in our communities. 🏡💚

Executive Director Kevin Yoder had the opportunity to participate in United Way of Northwest Florida’s Campaign Kickoff and ALICE Simulation.

The ALICE Simulation provided a powerful, eye-opening look into the daily challenges faced by hardworking families who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. It was a meaningful reminder that financial hardship can look very different than we sometimes imagined and that even one unexpected expense can quickly put a family in a difficult position.

Through our work with families in the community at Chipola Habitat for Humanity, we see firsthand how housing stability is connected to so many other aspects of a family’s financial well-being.

Events like this remind us that addressing the needs of our community takes all of us working together. We’re grateful to the United Way of Northwest Florida for bringing awareness to these challenges, creating meaningful conversations, and bringing community leaders together to identify solutions.

When we understand the challenges, we become better neighbors and better partners in building stronger communities
and create greater opportunities for families to thrive. 🏡

Another great day at the FHC REPAIR Conference!!

We were excited to hear from Linda Clemons, CEO of Sisterpreneur Inc. of Indianapolis, Indiana, a charismatic speaker, corporate trainer, and nonverbal communication expert.

Linda shared valuable insights on how body language can improve performance, communication, and outcomes.

It was a great reminder that how we communicate goes far beyond the words we say.

It’s always great to connect, grow, learn and sharpen our skills, strengthen our teams, and discover new ways to better serve the communities we represent!!
