Today we pause, not simply to recall the horror of that morning, but to honor the light that arose from the ashes.

On September 11th, 2001, thousands perished in a moment that tested the soul of a nation. But amid the smoke and sorrow, men and women of courage rushed toward danger. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, chaplains, and ordinary citizens became extraordinary, their actions forming a living mosaic of sacrifice, service, and solidarity.

Freemasonry teaches us that duty to God, country, and fellow man is not symbolic, it is lived. The Square reminds us to act justly, the Compasses to walk uprightly. On that day, countless brothers and sisters walked the walk, some giving their lives, many carrying invisible burdens to this day.

Let us remember Brotherhood, not just within the Craft, but in its truest form: shared humanity.

Let us honor First Responders, those who were there, and those who serve still.

Let us commit to living lives of purpose, building a world worthy of those we lost.

And let us never forget that in the face of darkness, light remains our charge.

Did You Know...
Mickey Mouse was never a Freemason, but he was a member of DeMolay, a Masonic youth organization. Mickey’s creator, Walt Disney, was active in DeMolay in his youth and inducted into the DeMolay Legion of Honor.
In 1931, Mickey appeared in a series of strips sporting the DeMolay insignia. The strips and individual drawings of Mickey with the insignia were signed by Walt himself.
The only organization Mickey was ever identified with in any comic strip was the DeMolay.
