Attention Genealogists, Family Historians, and Interested Parties!

Need help with your genealogy research? Help using Internet resources such as Ancestry.com and HeritageQuest? Come join the Genealogy Lab at Jackson County Public Library!
This lab is every held every Wednesday from 10 am - 12 pm and is manned by a knowledgeable volunteer.
Please call ahead in case of cancellations. The number to call is 850-482-9631.

In addition, we are announcing the first meeting of the Jackson County Genealogical Society. The group will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6 pm at the Jackson County Public Library. The purpose of this meeting will be forming the Society.

This Sunday, September 8th, is International Literacy Day! To celebrate, Florida State Parks are allowing free entrance that day if you show them a library card, a library book, or donate a book of your own. Enjoy nature and a good book!

Attention!

We will be closed Monday August 26 through Monday September 2. We will be making updates on our computers, completing an inventory of our books and materials, and closing for Labor Day. Our services will be greatly enhanced after these tasks are completed.

We will open again on Tuesday September 3.

We have new programs!

Genealogy 101:
A 3 session course for budding genealogists. Tips and strategies in constructing your family tree will be presented. Forms, family tree software, e-resources, and more will be discussed.
Sessions will be on Tuesdays Sept. 10, 17, & 24.
They will be from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Stop by the library or call and register today!
There will be a $2.00 material fee.

Writing Center:
This will be a new club for anyone who likes to write. Members will learn about the writing process, ideas and styles in writing, critiquing, illustrating, editing, publishing, and marketing.
Sessions will be the first Tuesday of each month beginning Sept. 3.
They will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Stop by the library or call and register today!
New and experienced writers are welcome.
