Labor Day, observed each year on the first Monday in September, is a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions and achievements of American workers. As you enjoy the holiday weekend, please keep these City of Maricopa facility closures in mind for Monday, September 7.

The following facilities and services will be closed:

The Mayor and six City Council members are the only elected officials in the municipality. The Mayor and City Council members serve four-year terms. The Mayor and City Council members are elected at large on a nonpartisan ballot. The City Council is elected on a rotating basis, so three seats are up for election every two years. The Mayor is elected every four years. There are no term limits for the Mayor or City Council members. The City Council is responsible for setting public policy, approving the City's annual budget, entering agreements, providing executive leadership, making planning and development decisions, and adopting new codes and ordinances. Residents will soon have a new resource to help them find jobs, develop their careers and take the next step professionally. The City of Maricopa and ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County are partnering to launch a Career Access Point at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center, offering residents access to career coaches and services such as resume assistance, job search support and career development.
