Hello! 'm Cynthia Morgan and I want to be a voice for the seniors of Maricopa on the City Council. Here's everything you ever wanted to know about me!!

I'm from Indianapolis and I've lived in Maricopa for 11 years. I'm the owner of “MURDER IN…” which is a Mystery Dinner Theatre and events company. I work with a program called P.A.T.H. founded by Garry Marshall, Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, & Bob Cole, which was implemented at both Warner Bros. and CBS Television Studios, I was asked to be the Director and brought into the Studios to work with Actors making transitions from Stage to Film AND the training and placement of Actors with Disabilities, Women and Minorities to create Diversity and Equality on Stage & Film; When I retired, SAG took over the program and it is successful to this day. ...
And I received a SAG Appreciation Award!

I married Lindy Tidwell in 2016. I have 2 Daughters, 3 Stepdaughters, 9 grandchildren: 2 attended Maricopa H.S. and 1 Butterfield Elementary School.

In California in 1973-1974 I worked at the Democratic Campaign Headquarters on the Jerry Brown Campaign for Governor and Mendelson for Controller, working directly with both Mr. Brown and Mendelson. I switched Parties after that and worked on Pete Wilson campaign for Governor. I worked with Senator Barbara Leff and the AZ Film Commission on authoring the tax bill to attract more film business to AZ.

Locally, I've worked closely with Tony Smith on his campaign for Mayor. This lead to hosting meet & greets, fundraisers, campaigning, and working the polls on behalf of:
Tony Smith for Mayor then for County Supervisor, Steve Smith for Representative then Senator, Judges Steve Fuller and Dan Washburn, Brett Roberts for Constable, Representative Frank Pratt, and for city council Peggy Chappados, Nancy Smith, and Vincent Manfredi. (Paul Babeu for Sheriff and Lando Voyles for County atty., regrettably.) I was the Precinct Committee Person and Chairman for Province, and a delegate to the “2008 Presidential Election Convention” to nominate John McCain. I worked Jan Brewer for Governor at Campaign Headquarters in Phoenix. During the 2014 Primary I put together and Hosted “Meet and Greet” in Maricopa for ALL Candidates running for Governor. ALL candidates attended except one. When Ducey won the Primary, I volunteered on his campaign for Governor. His office contacted me last week to ask me to work with him on his re-election campaign. I’ll do what I can.

I’ve been committed to service to my community since a teen when I spent almost every weekend and my entire summer breaks as a “Candy Striper” at Indiana State Hospital, (we were called Pinafore Girls).
Lions Club, Rotary Club, Soroptomist Club…Advocate for the Physically and Mentally Challenged, Chamber of Commerce Board member numerous Chambers from California to Phoenix.
I've been active with the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce since 2007. Volunteering as an Ambassador, Events Committee Chair, and previously on the Government. Affairs Committee as a liaison to the City. I've also volunteered at the Maricopa Business Expo and for pretty much every City Event, Salsa Festival and Stagecoach Days sponsored by the city. I wrote and presented the MELODRAMA where the audience can BOO and HISS our City Leaders caught doing dastardly deeds by our Hero Sheriff Steve Judd, hired the Bands and entertainment on the stages.; Started the first Miss Maricopa Pageant in 2011.; volunteer & support “Copa Film Fest, Seeds Of Change, and F.O.R. Food Bank. I also founded the “Stop Global Water Coalition” and helped organize the effort to get Global Water in front of the Corporation Commission. I’ve been doing diligence as a “watchdog” to resolve issues on behalf of fellow customers, and reaching out to the community thru Global Water and Jon Corbin.

The one thing I would like to change about Maricopa as a councilmember is the City Council’s refusal to work with the Chamber of Commerce. I don't think this is in the best interest of the City at-large.

I have passion and a love for our community. A lifetime of hard work and long hours. I’ve always worked well with others as a team member. I am in touch with and communicate very well with the people, my fellow taxpayers and citizens. I listen to ALL opinions and points of view in order to make an informed decision.

I am very proud of my with with the P.A.T.H. program: “the training and placement of Actors with Disabilities, Women and Minorities to create Diversity and Equality on Stage & Film” because it changed the entire Film & Television Industry. 2) The 3 biological grandchildren of my late husband. We raised them, as his daughter was a drug addict criminal who abandoned them, & instead of excuses and playing victims to justify bad behavior, they took the alternate path. No drugs or bad behavior, instead were honor students. Of the 2 oldest who attended Maricopa H.S., one graduated NAU with Honors and is a counselor at Southwest Mental Health; the second just graduated ASU Magna Cum Laude and has already taken a job at EXXON Corporate, in Houston, and the youngest is a straight A High School Junior, and plays Varsity Football. I like to think that is because of the values we instilled in them against the bad hand they were dealt.
