I believe in accountability. I believe in holding litigants accountable for their actions. Equally as important, I believe in holding MYSELF accountable. You will never hear me blame any member of my team (whether it be friends, family, or colleagues).

When we succeed, my team will receive the public praise. If we misfire, I will take full responsibility.

That is accountability.
That is leadership.

Everyone please join me in congratulating Dawn Bornheim Thompson and Dawn Longoria Dutra on their completion of New Judge Orientation.

Shortly after my appointment, I recognized a need for LOCAL pro tems and quickly began recruiting community members for this role. Judge Thompson and Judge Dutra have spent countless hours with me on the bench and in judge's chambers learning the ins and outs of the Western Pinal Justice Court. Earlier this year, they completed New Judge Orientation, which was the final step in their appointment as pro tem judges. They are now able to serve all Pinal County Justice Courts, but since they are both residents of Maricopa, we have the added benefit of being able to call them to our court in an emergency. This is another example of my commitment to access to justice.
