Power at the Magistrate Court building will be temporarily shut down on August 15 from 7 am - 11 am for installation of critical infrastructure. The Waddell Street entrance will remain open and all 24/7 services will be available, including the Noon Wedding Ceremony. Please call 770-528-8900 with any questions.

Chief Magistrate Judge Brendan F. Murphy has appointed Melinda Taylor and Matthew Brown as part-time Magistrate Judges. They were selected through an open application and interview process from a competitive field of well-qualified candidates.

“From the Marietta Square to Wall Street, Melinda and Matt bring decades of diverse legal acumen to the People’s Court," said Judge Murphy, “Their love of the law and careers dedicated to helping real people and small businesses will serve our Cobb community well.”

Our Clerk’s Office, Pretrial, & Administrative Office will be closed in celebration of America’s 250. 🇺🇸Warrant Division will remain open 24/7 to secure the blessings of liberty. 🗽 Wedding Ceremonies at Noon & 6 pm. 💍 Happy Birthday, USA!

Cobb County Government offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in honor of Independence Day. Cobb Libraries will also be closed Saturday, July 4. We encourage all those interested in fireworks to attend one of the numerous sponsored displays throughout the community: https://www.cobbcounty.gov/news/cobb-celebrates-nations-birthday.

Those who want to use fireworks at home should observe all safety rules, have a water source to extinguish fires and be mindful of their neighbor's pets. Fireworks are only allowed 10 a.m. - midnight July 3 and 4. We hope all have a fun, relaxing and safe holiday weekend with their loved ones.

The Magistrate Court of Cobb County is seeking a part-time judge in the Warrant Division. Applicants must meet all statutory qualifications in O.C.G.A. § 15-10-22 & Cobb County Code § 10-1 and be available to work at night and/or on the weekend 1-2 times per week.

Memorial Day is a solemn time when we remember and honor those who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
