📢 OUTDOOR WARNING SIREN TEST TODAY

Cobb County’s Outdoor Warning Siren System will be tested today at noon as part of our routine monthly test.

If you hear the sirens, no action is needed. This is only a test.

In the event of severe weather or another emergency, remember that outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors. Always have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts while indoors.

The Hope House (MUST Ministries) will be open starting TODAY, August 31st, 2026, through September 5th, 2026, from 12 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. as a cooling center. Anyone who is in need of a cool place to shelter from the heat is welcome. Lunch and dinner will be provided for clients.

Here’s the most recent MUST Hope House cooling center information for anyone who may be in need of a place to cool down in this crazy August heat!

☀️ Due to high temperatures, the MUST Hope House Cooling Center will be open to the public Monday, Aug. 24, and Tuesday, Aug. 25, from noon–6:30 p.m.

MUST Ministries will be opening the Hope House doors again this week as a cooling center starting TODAY, August 10th, 2026, through Friday, August 14th, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day. The Hope House is located at 1297 Bells Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30066. Clients will receive lunch and dinner prior to their departure as well. The August monthly siren test has been cancelled for today. The forecast shows possibly cloudy weather and scattered thunderstorms this afternoon, so to ensure there is no confusion, the audible test will not take place today. The sirens are tested daily in a silent capacity.

Should you register for Logan's List?
The answer is yes if you need to let responders know about special circumstances.
Registering your family members for this database would help responders by letting them know they are non-verbal, how they best communicate, whether they are easily agitated, or whether sirens and flashing lights upset them. This information is essential to make sure those in public safety can best help those with special needs.

Logan's Law in Georgia allows each county to establish a database, known as Logan's List, containing information about individuals with special needs to help public safety personnel respond appropriately in emergencies. The list includes people with physical, mental, or neurological conditions, enabling first responders to identify triggers that may be overwhelming to them and respond with more understanding and compassion. Personal information is strictly for emergency personnel and will not be shared with others.

**Data is stored for 6 months, so you will need to re-register if it has been 6 months or longer.

Each of these days, the cooling center will be open from 12 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Clients will receive lunch and dinner prior to leaving if they wish!

After monitoring the latest weather forecast, the decision has been made to extend the MUST Hope House Cooling Center through Wednesday, July 22.

The Cooling Center will be open today, July 20, through Wednesday, July 22, from noon to 6:30 p.m. each day.

Guests have access to a safe, air-conditioned space as well as lunch and dinner.
