Senior Prom for our Senior Citizens, themed “Putting On The Ritz” was held on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at the Mountain View community center, located in Marietta GA.
In preparation for this event, the following services were extended to the residents of Branson Walk, Hull Heights and residents from the Tower as well as the Retreat:
Donations of formal wear, shoes, purses and accessories.
One of the biggest gifts extended to the residents was provided by Great Clips, headed by the General Manager, Christy Jones. Eight stylists from various locations donated their time to provide a salon experience at the Branson Walk Community room, located at 419 Aviation Rd, Marietta.
A small reception was provided by the Marietta Housing Authority for the Great Clips Team and the residents that were in attendance. There were over 20 residents who took advantage of this most generous offer of kindness. Services rendered were free haircuts, roller sets and styling the hair beautifully for our ladies.
The Marietta Housing Authority attempted to provide an event that the guests would cherish and one that would create a memory for a lifetime. Over seventy residents were in attendance; arriving by way of a chartered bus, MHA Bus or private vehicles to Mountain View Community Center, located in Marietta Georgia. “Putting On The Ritz” featured :
• Escorts into the ballroom
• A Live Band, DSB Live Music
• Dancing
• Beautifully decorated surroundings
• A fantastic lunch
What is a prom without a King and Queen? The 2015 Prom crowns went to Franklin Johnson and Cynthia Watt, both from the Branson Walk community.
In closing, this was a day, the Marietta Housing Authority Staff members as well as other volunteers, helped the residents enjoy a day of youth, great services of love, kindness and joy
