Support Cobb County Georgia 4-H with a fresh produce box purchase!

For just $35, you'll receive a fresh assortment of seasonal produce that's perfect for family meals, summer recipes, and healthy eating. Every purchase helps support Cobb County Georgia 4-H programs, activities, and opportunities for local youth.

Typical produce may include:
• Bell peppers
• Cucumbers
• Green beans
• Cabbage
• Corn
• Zucchini
• Yellow squash
• Jalapeños

Please note that produce selections may vary based on seasonal availability.

Learn how to make kimchi safely at home.
Kimchi is a traditional Korean staple dish made of salted, fermented vegetables, most commonly napa cabbage and radishes, seasoned with chili powder, garlic, ginger, and fish sauce. Known for its spicy, sour, and pungent flavor, it is packed with probiotics.

Attendees see a demonstration, and receive a recipe, ingredients, and a scale - all worth $25.
The class is $5.

May 7, 2026: In a hard-fought match where the lead went back and forth, Georgia won the Junior Varsity National LifeSmarts Championship title. The Georgia team members are Navin Natarajan; Ky’Lan Mullins, Joy Patadia, and Tara Manickaraj, and coaches are Colleen Bakhsh and Kathleen McElroy.

Introducing the 2026 National JV LifeSmarts Champions!

Congratulations to Team Captain Navin Natarajan (Simpson Middle School), Tara Manickaraj (Campbell Middle School), Ky’Lan Mullins (East Cobb Middle School), and Joy Patadia (Durham Middle School) on bringing in the gold for Georgia for the second year in a row! Congratulations to our fellow National JV LifeSmarts Teams!

We are so grateful to Cobb County Government ITS, Mr. Stan Kirk, Cobb County Farm Bureau, LifeSmarts, National Consumers League, Georgia LifeSmarts, Georgia 4-H, and UGA Extension for all of their support. A special thank you to Cobb County ITS for helping us with the technology equipment and to Cobb County Farm Bureau for treating the team to Chick-fil-A lunch during the competition.

All in all, our Cobb 4-H’ers are “LifeSmarter” in technology and workforce preparation, health and safety, personal finance, consumer rights and responsibilities, and environmental science.

Join UGA Extension Cobb County for a Make Kimchi Safely at Home Workshop. Participants will learn safe, research-based food preservation practices through a kimchi-making demonstration.

The Cobb 4-H LifeSmarts Varsity Bananas, Captain Ajay, Harith, Shubham, Summer, and Phebe, tied for 5th place out of 46 teams at the National LifeSmarts Championship! Harith won the inaugural ConsumerMan LifeSmarts scholarship sponsored by the Herb and Debra Weisbaum fund. Shubham and Summer also won LifeSmarts scholarships for their outstanding work.

At the Awards Luncheon Harith was honored as a LEAP Member and our graduating seniors - Harith, Ajay, and Shubham. The celebration also brought many great surprises for our team:
Harith 1st place in Environmental Science
Summer 1st place in Technology and Workforce Preparation
Shubham 2nd place in Consumer Rights
Phebe 2nd place in Health and Safety
Summer earned a scholarship for her OTC project!
Shubham won the LifeSmarts Impact Scholarship!

LifeSmarts doesn’t end here - the Cobb 4-H JV Team will be looking for a repeat of last year when they won first place at the National LifeSmarts Championship! Cheer them on for their virtual competition which will be on May 6 and May 7.
