Eric has returned home. He is safe with his family. We all thank you for the assistance and prayers. He has been removed from NCIC. What a wonderful result to a scary situation. THANK YOU ALL!

MISSING PERSON - Eric Willis, a 46-year-old male, approximately 220 lbs, and 5 feet 11 inches tall, was last seen wearing dark clothing. He was reported missing by his family on November 11, 2025, and was last seen by them on November 10, 2025, at their residence. Any information regarding his whereabouts should be reported to the Love County Justice Center at 580-276-5898. Mr. Willis has been entered into NCIC. Your assistance in ensuring his safe return is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Popsicles in the Park – The Sweet Comeback

Last time we tried this, the rain showed up uninvited like that one cousin who never RSVPs. I’m still not over it, but I’m choosing forgiveness… mostly because holding a grudge in August is too sweaty.
So here’s the redo: Friday, August 15th, 6 PM to 8 PM, Memorial Park. We’ll have FREE popsicles for anyone who wants one. We’ve got literally enough popsicles to cool off a small army. So bring everybody: your kids, your neighbors, your church crew, your mailman, your softball team, and yes… even your grumpy uncle — you know, the one who wears socks with sandals, keeps a 1984 Folgers coffee can full of “perfectly good” used screws, and once yelled at the Weather Channel for “lying about the dew point.”

We’re talking laughter, sticky hands, brain freezes so powerful they reset your internet router, and enough melted popsicle juice to keep the ants partying until Halloween.

WHERE: Memorial Park.
WHEN: Friday, August 15th – 6 PM to 8 PM
HOW MUCH: Free (unless you insist on paying, in which case I still won't take your money and will just hand you another popsicle)

P.S. This time...if the sky even thinks about raining, I’m showing it a water bill.

Beginning January 24th, citizens may notice a helicopter flying relatively low to the ground (approximately 100-200 foot), around Marietta. The helicopter will have a large hoop beneath gathering data below earths surface. This geographical survey is being conducted by specially trained and experienced pilots. They have received proper clearance from the FAA and will be following pre-registered flight plans. This aerial survey may last up to one week.

Fire Departments and law enforcement are currently working an active fire at Dollar Tree Warehouse. There is a large personnel presence at this time. Large amounts of smoke are reported in the area. All persons are encouraged to avoid the area while responders work to control this event. Travelers are highly encouraged to avoid this area and seek alternate routes.

Local emergency personnel are responding to significant storm damage in Marietta. Conditions are very dangerous as many roads are blocked with debris and downed power lines.

Please stay off the roadways and continue to watch for weather updates.
